Help a new DISigner - questions inside

I downloaded a trial version of Photo Impact and was messing around with some of the buttons to see what it does. Now I can not add anything to any image, even after starting a new page . I get a box that pops up and says "Cannot enter on screen editing in deform mode" when trying to enter text.

Does anyone know what I am doing wrong and how to stop getting that message?
