Yep, I just wanted to say hi. Our board isnt one of the busiest but that doesnt mean we arent a fun group haha. So, I guess if I ask a question it would be, what town or city are you from and what makes it special.

Im from St Catharines Ontario in the Niagara region, and i guess, the things we are noted for are:
the grape and wine festival and parade
the garden city
paul bernardo(ugh)
being close enough to the buffalo airport to get cheap southwest flights
walter ostanek
the welland canal
henley rowing in portdalhousie
and Im sure there must be more

I'm from Brampton, Ontario and we're well-known for:
- being close to Toronto and Mississauga!
- Brampton Battalion (hockey) and Brampton Excelsiors (lacrosse)
- Brampton Fall Fair in September
- Chrysler plant
- our parks and greenland
- Professor's Lake and Heart Lake
- Highway 410
- home of Bill Davis, former premier of Ontario
- good minor sports teams (eg. girls' hockey team - Canadettes)

It's a very friendly community and very family friendly! We're smaller than Toronto and Mississauga and we kind of like that (although there is so much development going on in Brampton that I think we'll lose that "small town-ness" soon).

also we have the best Motel in the world...Gaudet Chalets and Motel. The reason I know it's the greatest...It's MY motel...

We have the Lobster Festival (1st full week in July) and we have the largest Lobster in the World...

You're not boring! St. Thomas is only about 20 minutes to all that great shopping in London!

I am from Kamloops, British Columbia.
- an hour away from a world class ski hill
- less than an hour away from many swimming and fishing lakes
- great scenery
- HOT summers (this could be a pro or a con) up to 38 - 40oC
- our own university
- a city with most things at our fingertips but Vancouver is only 4hrs away

And since we live a few kilometres from the city centre up a 2km hill, we have a great view on one side and the forest on another. With this, we have bears in the neighbourhood spring and fall and we often hear the coyotes howling at night.

Hi!

I live in Toronto,

We have alot of things, like the CN Tower, Skydome etc., that I am sure you are all aware of.....but things that I like personally are:

Mill Street Brewery in the Distillery District - friends of mine opened this and it is great!
Yummy Indian food at the end of my Street
Kew Beach park and boardwalk in the Beaches - great for the kiddies
Withrow Park in Riverdale - another plus for the kids, and my dog loves it too
The Toronto Zoo is awesome, we have a seasons pass and go pretty much every weekend
You can pretty much find anything you want in Toronto; clothes, food, culture, stuff to do, great restaurants etc.

BUT........

I think you lose the "community" feeling of living in a small(er) town. I don't talk to my neighbours, never say "good morning" to people on the street (they would think I am mental), etc. etc.
I miss the "small town mentality".

So, that's where I live!

The "most conservative" product test marketing city.

The little town of C'ville itself is quite the tourist destination on weekends with boutiques and antique stores
About a bazillion (can you tell I have kids?) horse farms and equestrian facilities due to the track
We are famous for our very rocky earth, just try digging out a garden in my back yard-impossible to not hit rocks
