The more you ask how I can wait until December, the more I think I may not be able to.

Much to the chagrin of my wife, I'm not made of money, so I think most of our trips (especially the weekend trips) will be spent in the Downtown Disney hotels.

For those of you who have stayed at both those and the All-Star resorts, what is the comparison? With the All-Star I've always pictured them being very crowded. We have stayed at the Downtown Disney hotels before on several occasions but never the Value resorts.

I love the All Star Resorts. I love the value and I think the large icons are great as well as the themeing.

I have stayed at the All Star Music many years ago and All Star Sports about 1 1/2 ago and will be returning in Feb/Mar of 2005.

The way I see is that I am spending very little time at the hotel - so why pay a lot of money for the room when I could put it to good use at the parks and restaurants?

The Sports was my husbands choice - he said that if I had to drag him to Disney (it was his first time - and he LOVED it) then he wanted to stay someplace that would cater to his love - Sports!

I am choosing Sports for the next stay because it is also the first pick up and drop off on the bus system - and that is a BIG plus.

I love you dry sense of humour and can't wait to read more from you.

Don't get him hooked on DVC already!! He just found the boards today! At least give him a FEW days before he ends up committing to a monthly payment on hundreds of points LOL.

I am surprising my dh with a two-nighter this weekend !! Actually it will be arriving Sunday Evening around 6:30 and departing around noon on tuesday...he doesn't know yet....And I only booked this trip two weeks ago...

I'm glad to see there are others out there that don't consider this to be absoulutely absurd!

We've never talked about joining the DVC. Where would I look to find the comprehensive no-stone-unturned FAQ on it? When it comes to monthly payments, I can be pretty questiony before I commit.

Go on over to the DVC board here at DISboards. Everyone over there is extremely helpful. Also, there is a FAQ link at the top of the page. Good to be questiony before spending $$$. We'd been toying with it since 1992 when we saw it on our honeymoon and always had a good reason not to buy it (house, kids, etc.). After 9/11 (hubby works in Manhattan), we quit coming up with reasons and took the plunge that October. We're huge Disney fans and it was a great move for us.
