"Hello? I'm in the Carousel of Progress.."*UD1/13pg74"All Good Things...*

It looks like you all were having a great time exploring the World Showcase. Those are great pictures of Dan with Donald.

Dan's interaction with Donald, too too cool!:thumbsup2

I love those pictures! :goodvibes

Don't tell Isaiah, but he'd be an awfully pretty girl.:cutie: At least, girl Viking.

LOL! It will be our secret!! :rotfl:

You didn't buy the $250 tiara? Why ever not?:confused3

Later that day Jeff offered to buy me a light-up one from one of the carts! Too funny!

I sadly didn't love the school bread, but Jonah's Itazakazookie(?) looks devine on a hot day!

I liked the school bread, but I didn't think it was anything to rave about. Jonah had been wanting one of those Itzakadoozies for so long..he was so HAPPY!!

I have always wanted to try the counter service place in Mexico. Sadly, Hunter does not eat anything remotely close to mexican food. I'm trying to get him to eat more things but he just doesn't like them.

Gratefully, my boys are fairly adventurous eaters. I love to cook and try new things so they have to experiment a lot!

I feel bad for the little kid with the other family. I try my best not to be one of "those" parents.

I felt bad too...mom was totally worked up and dad just wanted to keep everyone calm and happy. We saw them later so it appeared that they were able to get back on track!

Hunter, too, was fascinated by the glass guy in Mexico. He could have stood there forever.

You'll have to come UP NORTH and go to the Museum of Glass with us! ;)

Great update! :goodvibes Your lunch sounds delish - gotta love a combo platter so you can have more variety! I hope the pop-spilling family took a deep breath and chilled out some! :sad2:

Me too! The more Mexican food I can cram on one plate, the better!! And I hope the pop spillers were able to salvage their day as well.

Aww, I think it's wonderful that Dan wanted to have some Donald time to himself :thumbsup2

Me too! You never know when they're going to decide that characters are way uncool!

You know, I think you've convinced me to try at least one KP mission! I've read about several of them now and your explanation about the missions not taking away from WS but adding to the experience swayed me

Oh good! I really think it can add to the WS experience if you do it right! Can't wait to hear how it goes for you!

So cute that Isaiah was so interested in the glass-making. Yep, definitely a trip to your local glass-making places would be a hit, judging from that!

The summer flew but maybe we can plan to go on one of their days off from school. The good thing about it is that kids 19 and under are FREE!!

 the tiara - all princesses should have a tiara! Good eye on the hidden Mickey :thumbsup2

Thanks! And I think I really should have a tiara to wear around town!

I'm glad Jonah got his treat (I can never remember what those things are called - Itza something or other ).

I hope you're able to get your Soarin' on! :cheer2:

We do.....but not without some drama...stay tuned!

It looks like you all were having a great time exploring the World Showcase. Those are great pictures of Dan with Donald.

Thanks! We really love WS! Those pics of Dan with Donald are some of my favorites from the trip! :lovestruc

Fun! update Missy,
I had plans to try Mexico's CS when we went but the crowds were so high the day we were going to Epcot we skipped it
looks like a fun exploration of Mexico and Norway we love both of their boat rides.
and Dan & Donald are priceless!!!!

That stinks that the crowds kept you from trying the CS in Mexico...put it on the list for next time!

Great Update, Missy!!!:thumbsup2

We love the Mexico Pavilion!! It's so beautiful inside.:lovestruc We haven't tried the CS place there yet, DH isn't fond of Mexican.:sad2: The boat ride inside is actually one of DS favorite rides in Epcot. Such great pictures of Dan and Donald!! Gotta love photopass!!

Love the Tiara picture!!:lovestruc I want one!!! $250 though....not happening.:sad2:

The pictures in Norway are great and the school bread looks yummy!!!!

Uh oh....now I'm anxious to find out if you were able to ride Soarin' or not?popcorn::

Hi Missy,

Great Update :thumbsup2

, but what I remember most is the family at the table next to us. The poor mom brought back everyone’s food and as she went to set the tray on the table she spilled one of the drinks all over the little girl. Mom did not handle that well and angrily went off to get a replacement drink...which the little girl promptly spilled on herself as soon as she got it. Ok....not funny, I know. Especially because mom was really fuming. The dad told the kids while mom was away getting the 3rd drink, to be prepared to leave the park. Awww...over spilled soda? What a shame. :sad2:

that is too bad....I could see myself getting annoyed w/ myself over spilling a soda...but be mad at my child...and then call it a day...some soap a clean shirt...you can manage

(At 14 I LOVE that he still wanted to do this even without his younger brothers!)

YAY! Oh my Michael would have loved this, going to have too look for him next yr!

While Jonah’s attention was otherwise occupied, I browsed the store and found this little beauty!

I always knew I was a princess! Anyway, as much as this princess wanted to take the tiara home, it was $250 and out of the royal budget. Sad. :sad1:

:scared1: I can understand why you passed that up...ouch!

He looks good as a blond....:rotfl: sorry I couldn't resist

looking forward to more!!!!

Hi Angie! Until I'm a real princess, $250 for a tiara is just not gonna work...even if it does have a cute pink Mickey head! :sad2:

Hi Missy,

Great Update :thumbsup2

looking forward to more!!!!

Scrappie

hi Julie! Donald was just across from the gift shop in Mexico...there is a little pathway that leads off and he was right there...we could see it because we were sitting to eat so Dan got there before the line!

Isaiah is such a crack-up...he came to ME dressed up like that and asked me to take a picture!

Another great update!!!

Love the pic of Dan & Donald and that he went off on his own to do it.

Isaiah strikes me as the full of fun joker in your family from that Viking pic!

Cute pic of Jonah with his big old popsicle!

Beautiful tiara but a little too pricey for me, too! LOL @ it being "out of the royal budget!"

Glad the KP mission went well again!

Great update Missy! Love that tiara!

Sounds like you didn't have the bird problem we usually have at the CS in Mexico! Ick.... (Although this last trip with just Shawn and I, the birds stayed far enough away from me that I wasn't grossed out).

Love the pictures with Donald and your teenager! How memorable!

Waiting to hear about Soarin....popcorn::

Hey!

I am really enjoying your TR - I'm only part way through but I SIMPLY had to remark on a picture you posted on your Ohana breakfast morning!

An ARMADILLO!!!!:scared1:

Flashback to 2006 - my first time at WDW - the very first day, in the car on the way to MK with DH, two daughters, parents in law and niece.

Still got jet-lag - I look out of the car window to see ...... an amadillo toddling up the side of the road!

'An amadillo!' I exclaimed. NOBODY BELIEVED ME! They thought I was delusional! (We don't get many armadillo's in Yorkshire:lmao:)

So now it's a bit of a family standing joke - how I 'imagined' the armadillo in WDW. Last year we went back to Florida and I looked in vain for another one to prove I was right - I had to console myself by buying a cuddly amadillo called Armand!

So, thank you for your picture! I showed it to my husband!

Enjoying reading all about your adventures with your boys! Fantastic!:thumbsup2

You've totally got Isaiah pegged! He constantly cracks me up! And I'm thrilled that Dan still lets himself enjoy Disney, even at 14!

I remember reading about how you were worried about the birds there...the only birds we had were the little family of ducks. Good thing, because I hate birds and that would have ruined my YUMMY meal!

Hi MAMA!! That's a great story! :rotfl2: I'm glad I could provide you with some evidence! :thumbsup2

What a great day you guys are having at Epcot. The Mexico pavillion is one of my favorite places in all of WDW! I spent alot of time in the glass shop last year and finally found some cute earrings on sale that I had to buy. This year we have ADR's at San Angel and I don't even like Mexican! That is how much I love the atmosphere in there! Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip.

Great update Missy! Sorry it took me so long to get here. You have no idea how many times I clicked on the link only to be called away from the computer...finally got it read though.

I'm glad KP was a success. I'm really looking forward to it! Probably more than my kids are. Okay, definitely more than my kids are...since they don't even know we're GOING to Disney World and they have no idea what a KP mission is. ;) But still. I am looking forward to it.

I'm thinking I might have to work a Mexican CS into our trip. I have to look at the itenerary again. I just cancelled our San Angel ADR because I think most of my family wouldn't eat there, but if I remember right the CS has more, uh, normal stuff like tacos and burritos, doesn't it? Plus with CS we can do like you did and the people that don't like it can go somewhere else! :rotfl:

LOVE the pictures of Dan and Donald. I hope my boys still want to meet characters at 14!

NO idea what school bread is. Guess I must have missed those threads. I'm not surprised you weren't hungry though. Not surprised the boys WERE either! :lmao:

Great picture of Isaiah as a girl...I mean Viking! :thumbsup2

Looking forward to the rest of your afternoon (hope the trouble to get on Soarin' was worth it). :goodvibes

HI and thanks for coming out of lurkdom to say hello! :welcome:

Jeff and I hope to go on a "mom and dad only" trip soon and San Angel is a place I would love to eat! It looks so beautiful.

If I remember correctly, our combo platter was a taco, a burrito, and a quesadilla. And part of what I really enjoyed about the CS plan was the freedom to be able to eat in different places if we chose.

Me too! :)

I swear I'm not sure how I'm gonna keep feeding these boys!!

Soarin' is such a great ride! That story is coming up!

Ok now don't be mad....;)

I was reading my Hidden Secrets of WDW book yesterday while waiting in the car-line at school to get the kids and there was little tid-bit:

"It may be delicious when used as a flavoring in candy and other food products, but birds don't like methyl anthranlite, one of the components in Concord grapes. While the kiddies are happy chugging down the flavoring in a grape soda, birds won't go near the stuff, making it a safe, effective, tasty means of avian discouragement."

:rotfl:

I hope you like grape soda!

I'm furious!!! LOL! Grape soda, huh? Well, I can handle grape soda on occasion, but I think I may just make it a habit to have a handful of Concord grapes with me at all times!! Thanks for the tip, Julie! ;)

Okay, that is just :rotfl: and even more :lmao: is the fact that it made you think of Missy!

And, yes, Missy. I am laughing at your expense. Sorry (well, no, I'm not really). :rotfl2:

Now somebody tell me how THAT is a "hidden secret of WDW" (and you can laugh at MY expense)

Hi!

I've recovered from the excitement of the armadillo and I'm all caught up! (The joys of being a teacher on school holidays!)

I've sooooo enjoyed reading about your escapades and can't wait to read some more! Although my heart lurches every time one of your boys loses something!:scared1:

Okay so ya'll go ahead and laugh at me all you want but somewhere I have missed something. What's this talk about birds and grape soda?:confused3
