We had a great time, very tired now though so just a few highlights/low points for starters:-
Rode all the big rollercoasters (on my own!!!)-loved them all despite being a big chicken!! Georgia (9) was 52" & loved Fearfall but disappointed not to go on the big coasters. I loved IOA but also Kraken & Montu. (BG) Spiderman ride was a big surprise (first ride we went on). Water rides at IOA were excellent, but would have been at their best on a very hot day, which was not the weather we had!!!
RPR was lovely, shame we were only there for 2 nights. Express access on Thanksgiving day and day after was brilliant! Queues were almost non-existent after Thanksgiving.
Vistana resort was good too, got Cascades section & unit was lovely.
All Star Sports was adequate but really wonder how I managed to spend 14 nights at Movies last time, I must be a snob in denial!!! Food court expensive considering off-site eating experience.
MVMCP was good but that night was the coldest and we couldn't risk Splash mountain even with ponchos!
MGM Spectacle of lights was beautiful.
Weather was hit and miss but what do you expect for December, was suitable for what we wanted to do-most days! If a tan isn't important to you this is the time to go!!
Food was good, Golden Corral breakfast buffet was a real find, read about it on the boards and think it was far superior to Ponderosa. Sizzler dinner buffet was sparse and the worst. Bahama Breeze was best meal we had. Sci-fi diner was a novelty. Didn't do any major on-site restaurants. Not getting on the scales until next week!!
Virgin were disappointing in my experience this time. I have complained about return flight and will be writing to them today to advise them about outward problems (perhaps I expect too much!!)-flight delay, plane change, seat change, vindictive check-in person, etc....won't go on (ask if you want to know more!!)
Discovered that all my planning made me totally manic!! I felt that the least little thing that didn't go right was a big deal. I might not be so meticulous in future, which might help to keep the stress level down a bit!!!! Managed to calm down once we got to destination though and really had a lovely time.
We decided that we won't go back to Orlando again until Georgia has grown those 2" and can go on all the coasters. However, we said that last year on our first trip as a family, when originally it was going to be a once in a lifetime experience! Fancy the Carribean and a week in Orlando next time.
Consoling myself with Italy in May and Spain in June!!!! Still considering next Autumn/Winter holiday??
Will answer any questions I can help with in the meantime and hope to keep in contact with you all on the boards.
Many thanks to you all for all your tips which made the holiday wonderful.
