Hi Another RI er here! From South Kingstown! I was wondering if there was any other RIs on here. Nice to find this thread!
kwlsh Have a great trip! You must be so excited. We were at Disney last month, and had a great time!
I live about 15 min from URI. I would agree to check with URI housing. If she is interested in a roomate they could probably help with that. Also pick up a copy of the local newspaper for the town of narragansett in any convenience, grocery, or drug store. They have a good classifieds.
There are lots of "winter rentals" at a lower cost than year round rentals. If she will not be here for the summers she may be able to get a good deal. In the areas near the beaches there are lots of summer residents who rent their homes to students in the winter. Just make sure they are well insulated. I still shiver thinking of one place my dh lived in during grad school! (we met at URI as grad students - 15 years ago- though I was never at the main campus so not familiar with it).
There are also plenty of year round rentals. There are definately noisier and quieter areas too.
Feel free to pm if you have a question.

Welcome. You will have a great time on the disboards and you will find alot of information.
On a personal side. My daughter will be attending The University of Rhode Island in the fall. Any ideas on where the best place to rent a condo or a townhouse. She is going for her masters in chemical engineering so she will be at the university for the next two years. Any help and advice would be greatly apprecaited.![]()
