HI, I know where I can find the height requirements for each ride, but i can't find where it tells you how tall a child can be to ride alone without an adult.
We are going to Disney with my sisters children and her children are the same age as my girls, but somehow my girls inherited the " short " gene from yours truly. Anyway there are some rides that they all want to ride on together without their moms like Barnstormer and Mad Hatter Tea Party. My oldest wil be 9 1/2 when we go and she is only 48 inches. There is no chance that she will grow an inch. She can still fit into clothes she wore 2 trips ago. She is so petite and I understand the restrictions and why they are in place. I have no problems with that and i don't plan on buying shoes that will make her taller. I don't want anything to happen to her. I told her I would try to find out so that she and her cousins can make their plans.

Thank you,
kristy

I think at the rides you mentioned you won't have any problems with the older girls riding together on their own. Anything in Fantasyland they should be ok to ride without an adult. It's when you get to the bigger rides there could be issues. In ridee where they "disappear" from your sight into a ride (Peter Pan, Snow White, Pooh), do you plan to ride in a car behind them?

The height requirements are the same whether a child is riding alone or not. The height tells whether they can ride it all and the age is for riding alone.

Barnstormer and Mad Tea Party won't be much problem if you are not planning to ride because you can see the whole line from outside. There are a lot of attractions where the line is not visible from the outside at all (like Pirates). Also, because the lines wind back and forth, there will be times even on the 'visible' lines when the children will be hidden by taller guests.

You can always be with them for the wait line
and when they get on the ride you can head for
the chicken exit and meet them at the end :thumbsup2

It depends on the age of the youngest "cousin".

Like pp's said the minimum age to ride alone is 7, so as long as all the children are 7 or older they can ride together without an adult "if" they meet the height restriction. If one of the children is under 7 then they will need a "responsible adult 18 or over" to accompany them.

I had this come up on the barnstormer when my kids were 6 and 8. They wanted to sit together in front of me and the CM wouldn't allow it. I had to sit in the same car with the 6yo so we ended up riding 3 to the seat as my then 8yo didn't want to sit alone.

We actually go on everything with our girls, it's just that the Mad Tea Party gets us very dizzy(in our old age) and they ride the Barnstormer over and over and that made me sick last year after going on it 6 times in a row. I just wanted to know in case we had to use that option. If we had to we would go on the ride. I wouldn't deny them going on. I can hang on the Mad Tea Party if we don't spin and my eyes stay shut lol.
Last year when I asked about the Barnstormer they told me that an adult had to ride with them. They never questioned their ages. I sat in the seat behind them and after the 6th time my face turned green and my mom had to ride it with them because they needed an adult.
I think they just assume my daughter is younger than she is.
There is no way we would allow our children to go on any ride if we couldn't see them. I can't imagine what would happen if they got stuck inside.

really? The past 2 years my girls were able to sit in front of me. As long as I was on the ride with them it was fine.

I feel for you on the dizzy part (my grandson is like that--rides over and over and over again until grandma is so beat up she thinks her bones are broken:rotfl: ). I also didn't mean to imply anything about letting the kids go on their own into some of the out of sight rides--I know some people do so wasn't sure. I too think of things like the ride breaking down with them inside and me outside. :flower3:

Thank you for your response and thank you to everyone else.
Don't worry, i know you didn't imply anything by that comment.

I think that is probably the official policy. Enforcement is another issue. DD2 wasn't allowed to ride Triceratops Spin with just her 8yo brother. However, DS8 and petite DS5 were allowed to ride together without an adult on the teacups with no question. That may have been an "oops" and not the norm.

The oldest cousin is 11 and is 56 inches. The youngest is my 7 year old and both she and my 9 year old are 48inches. My youngest is more likely to be taller than my oldest when our trip comes. It would be so great if they could ride the Tea cups alone. I could do the Barnstormer a couple of times with my sister, behind them, but after so many that's about it for us.
