My soon-to-be 7-yo wants a pair of Heelys. I have no clue if they come small enough for him, or where to find them. We live in the middle of nowhere, and I haven't seen them in any stores here.

How much are they? Is there a good, reputable online site I can buy them?

Thanks!

Try zappos.com

Costco sells them too.
Bought my sons for $120.

A year later, the same ones were at Costco for $65. (Canadian)

Journeys has them

I just checked around and found that nordstroms.com was having a good sale on boys heelys. Since the new styles have come out there are good sales on last years models!!!

fogdog.com also has good sales

I think both of these stores have free shipping too!

As for the sizes...yes - they come quite small. My dd was 7 and my ds was 5when we got them.

It took about 2-3 weeks of practicing to get it right!! I must say that taking them to the supermarket and Walmart helped tremendously! They were able to hold onto the cart and let go when they were comfortable enough.

Those skates do not belong in supermarkets though...they are totally banned in the ones around here.

Yep...my daughter gets yelled at alllllll the time. I just laugh and say if she breaks something its my problem. Like when she broke her finger the first week she got them hitting a stone. Then as soon as she got her cast off she managed to break a finger on her other hand. But hey, kids happen.

Just wanted to warn you that some elem. schools have banned heeleys as well. You may not be planning to send your child to school in them, but after Christmas last year, several kids showed up in them and we had to call parents to bring replacements. Given that I had Kindergarten students in them, I'd say they come pretty small.

Responsible parenting at its best!!!:sad2:

These shoes may be banned in Disney, but I was run into many times on our June trip by children wearing them. I was almost run over by a little girl in our mall and as I moved to avoid her, her brother ran into me. THe parents just watched and kept on walking. I did make a loud comment to my daughter at that point, that she would not be allowed to own a pair of those shoes.

Of course, she's four and couldn't care less at this point, but she will not have a pair. Not just because I hate them and I'm tired of being run over by kids who's parents just watch and do nothing, but also because I know how I look at those children and their parents. Some children are just too young to really know how to control themselves enough on them or their parents just don't teach them that its rude to run into people in them or that just because you are wearing shoes with wheels, that does not automatically give you the right of way. I don't want someone else looking at me or my child like that. They are getting a terrible reputation.

Just before my daughter turned a year old she was hit by a child wearing them at Walmart. She was strapped in the buggy and I was pushing it, but the boy was going so fast down the aisle that when he hit our buggy it swung around about 180 degrees. He proceeded to zoom down the aisle and make his way out the garden center. I don't know if he had a parent with him. Thank goodness I always strap her in, because I have seen kids unstrapped and standing while mom looks at the cereal :sad2:

I will not get those things just because they seem to be more of a hazard then ever. Is it really necessary to have rollers on your shoes. they are like wearing skates.

kids can not skate in the mall , grocery stores etc. why would they allow these Heely shoes.

I know I will be flamed it was just my opinion, hopefully the kids who are wearing them are careful and considerate of those who are not wearing them ( not running us over)>

I should have warned you OP...saying the "H" word on the Dis boards is very risky.....
