Does anyone have a good recommendation for a hotel at Heathrow? We normally fly from Manchester but are going to Disneyland California so are flying to LA. We're doing the Dublin route so need an overnight stay in LHR. We fly into T5 but fly out of T3. We did stay at the Marriot many years ago which was good.

We always stay at the Premier Inn, Bath Road, Heathrow. They have a great park and fly arrangement, whereby you park your car overnight at the hotel, then the next morning you drive to the airport, drop your car off and they take it and aprk it up somewhere, then they bring it back to the airport for your return. They do 8 and 15 day poackages but you can add days to it separately, for about £7 per day.

The hotel itself is good (Premier Inn have really upped their game recently, I think) and quiet, plus the restaurant is nice for evening meal (breakfast not so much).

I recommend the Heathrow/Windsor Marriott Hotel. We stayed here to visit the Harry Potter attraction two years ago and found it highly comparable to the Radisson Blu Manchester airport where we usually stay. I can't say how convenient it is for flights as that wasn't our purpose for staying but rooms were good, dinner in the restaurant was good and the breakfast buffet was good. I think there was a shuttle bus to the terminals. They had a pool too.

We normally head out of gatwick, but heading out heathrow this year. Was looking at prices other day, more expensive compared to gatwick, premier inn bath road was best at £95. We will probarly go here as the shuttle takes 10 minutes to t3 as the other premier inn takes 30 minutes!!

Flying out of heathrow and into gatwick is a pain for parking!

Last couple of times we flew from Terminal 5 so stayed at the T5 Travelodge where we managed to get rooms one year at £25 and the next time at £39 (basic but cheap and clean and there's a pub serving excellent food 10 minutes walk away) but wouldn't advise staying here unless you're flying from Terminal 5. This summer we're flying from Terminal 3 and I was originally going to book the Premier Inn Bath Road but the Heathrow Hotel (also on Bath Road) was £79 incl breakfast so booked that instead.

I have done it twice. First time I parked at Gatwick and took the National Express to Heathrow and stayed at the Yotel in Heathrow, not impressed with it. Came back into Gatwick and picked up the car there. Second time around I did it the other way around, parked at Heathrow and on returning took the coach to Heathrow to pick up the car. Slightly better option as my drive back to West Wales was much shorter, but, I found out that Norwegian airlines fly out to LA from Gatwick, so thinking of doing that and doing VA back to Gatwick from Orlando.
