Heath Ledger has passed away :MEMORIAL PICS POSTED

Around 4:45, I left a work event at the corner of Spring and Mulberry Streets, and stepped onto a road chock-full of news trucks ... traffic was paralyzed. I found out from a E! camera crew that Heath Ledger had died at his apartment a block away ...
He was so talented, and just a year older than me ... made me sad. The media was speculating that it might be suicide, and I haven't read enough online to know if that's possible, but whatever it was, he was just at the dawn of his life, really. Too soon gone.

When I heard about his death I felt like the breath was taken away from me. it's so sad :sad2: . Hollywood has lost such a talent. From everything that i have been hearing on the news (I don't trust those "entertainment" websites) it sounds like a tragic accidental death. The worst part is that his beautiful daughter will grow up not knowing her daughter, other then what her mother and Heath's family tell her.

Young Hollywood needs to stop all this craziness. I honestly thought that Britney or even Lidsney would go way before someone like Heath, you never hear about him. This is just a sad sad day.

RIP Heath. I hope that you are in peace where ever you are

I don't think it was suicide because he had a massage scheduled. I am soooo sad about this. What a waste of youth and talent. RIP.

What a shock. But I knew he was in trouble the moment I heard he & Michelle Williams were pregnant. She was always so beaming about their relationship & their upcoming baby.

Yet, in interviews or pics of them together, I never thought he quite matched her happiness. Instead he had kind of an uncomfortable look. Kind of like Ennis in Brokeback Mountain. I'm not saying he's gay. Just that that baby certainly accelerated them into a relationship and a certain future together. They were both so young. He might have felt trapped.

They broke up a few months ago. I'm sure he loved his little daughter. But he might have been depressed about the way the whole situation transpired. I had a feeling that relationship wouldn't last. But I certainly didn't expect this.

God bless his child and family. He was a great actor with so much potential.

Now that I've had a moment or two to think, this tragedy strikes me in another way too. Ledger's death is just pathetic and sad. How pathetic is it when someone so beautiful, so young, so rich and with the world at his fingers dabbles in drugs and winds up at room temperature. Pathetic and sad.

Even more pathetic and sad is how generations in our culture will chase after the brand of fame this young man had that ultimately left him cold and dead. Pathetic and empty... :sad2:

Well, I hope that we are wrong with our speculation. I'm watching Larry King, and it sounds that even though the Batman movie got into his head, he was able to stay above the fray. It does seem to be true that he had pneumonia however, and he has just returned from shooting a small film in London, so perhaps there is more to the story than we know (we can only hope)....

10 Things I Hate About You is where I saw him first....and developed a bit of a crush on him (even though he was younger and I don't usually <3 younger guys.) I couldn't believe it when I heard he was dead.

Wow!!!!!!
I just got done looking that new Batman trailer the other day.
I wonder if it was completed shooting. I wonder if it will still be released.

A Knights Tale is also a fav of mine.

I'm wondering if it'll be like an Anna Nicole Smith situation, where he was sick with flu and self-medicated, and had a bad reaction. I'm also watching the Larry King show. They're speculating it was a "horrible accident" on the show. So sad. I know people keep repeating it, but it's like we don't know what to say, it's really so sad.

TMZ has a headline that says "Michelle Williams - DEVASTATED".....I mean, obviously!

I feel sooooooo sad for her and her daughter. No matter what they were going through, it seemed like him and her had chemistry and I thought they were so cute together. I can only imagine how she feels. :(

I just hope that she heard it from a friend or family member and not on the news! :sad2:

He would have been 25-26 when his daughter was born. That is not young to start a family. By the time my parents were 25 they had 3 children under the age of 3. And at this point, unless I hear otherwise, I will think his death was accidental.

I read through the whole thread after I posted my first response. First of all, I hope and think that it was probably accidental. Secondly, I was another one that kind of gasped except my gasp took the form of "WHAT?" when I heard it. I was at a friend's house and the friend and his roommate already knew about it but it was the first I had heard of it.

Heath had Phenomonia...My guess is that due to being sick and a mix of perscriptions and over the counter drugs created a bad interaction and caused us to lose a bringht young star.

As I said earlier rest In Peace Heath.

a friend of mine text messaged me this afternoon to tell me. she knew he was one of my all time favorite actors. i didn't believe her at first.

i turned on the news and i was just completely shocked. i started getting a little sad while watching but once they took the body out of the apartment i started crying.

it's so sad. i really liked him as an actor, he had so much talent. i was looking forward to seeing him in the new Batman movie because i had heard such great things about him and i really thought he'd go places and that this would open up so many doors for him.

i really think this was an accident. and it's a sad accident. his poor little baby, that little girl will never know her daddy.

i've never been this upset over a celebrity death before....
