This truthfully is some of the saddest news I have heard in a long time. heath is one of my All time favortie actors. I have been following his career since KNights tale..and as my wife can attest he was certainly my man crush. I even went back and tried to track down all his old works from ROAR (the tv show) and Two Hands(a australian film).

Truely I am extremely sad. He was like the news johnny depp. Only taking movie roles in which he felt he could grow as an actor in. Turning many down simply because they didn't suite his fancy. A brillaint young actor is now no longer with us (likely due to stuid sleeping pillls). A young, careing, father is no longer there for his 2 year old daughter, matilda. The world is a little bit darker without him.

I wil be watching The Dark Knight in July with a tear in my eye and a heavy heart. May you rest in peace and may the world remember what a brilliant young actor you were, See you at the crossroads brother.

I'm just shocked, even after watching CNN Headline News for the last hour. Something just doesn't seem real about it even though I know he is dead. Thoughts and prayers to his little girl Mattilda and his ex-fiance Michelle Williams. I really hope she didn't hear about this from the news like everyone else.

Don't apartment buildings like this sometimes have underground garages?

I don't think so, SoHo buildings are all pretty small and not like the huge apartment buildings you see in other areas. A lot of them are just renovated warehouses and factories. I hope this one does have some sort of underground garage but most of them don't, so who knows I know that there was a whole big mess down there because they weren't letting other people who own apartments leave or enter the building and people were getting pretty frustrated. Hopefully it all works out, this is such a sad situation.

Oh, man what a shock!!

Since there are so many threads popping up about Heath, I'm going to combine them into one thread so everyone can share their thoughts.

I knew this would happen...he's the only famous person I know of named Heath...problem is...that's also my dh's name, they are 4 months apart in age, they have some things in common looks-wise, and we have a 3 year old boy (rather than a 2 year old girl). The parallels keep jolting me as I watch the news and hear, "Heath was found dead..., " etc. I don't know what I'd do if anything happened to my dh...and I had to carry on with my son by myself. Ugh.

I am very sorry for his family's loss...most especially his precious little girl's.

I really thought he was a great actor, and I'm not just saying that because of his name (which I also love)!

I'm shocked by this news as well. It goes to show that you are never quite sure what is going on in someone's life. While we see that he has a great career and a beautiful child, clearly he was battling something internally... I'm sure we will hear a lot more about this. Interesting that he was found in Mary Kate Olson's apt. Where was she? It will be a sad Batman premiere without him. The previews with him as the Joker were fantastic and I look forward to seeing the movie, it will now just be a little more bittersweet.

CNN is NOW saying he wasn't in her apartment, but that they have apartments in the same building.

TMZ is saying now that it definitely isn't mary kate's apt and that it is too soon to say whether it is an accidental death and they should know tomorrow. they did say that he did have a substance abuse problem but that he had been clean for a year....

I just got on the internet and our home page is Fox News. I was shocked to see his picture and a big caption that read "Heath Ledger Dead". I actually gasped.

So sad. I feel bad for his little daughter.

I'm not sure what channel I heard this on, but one of Heath Ledger's friends said that Heath's role as the Dark Knight in the new Batman movie apparently really got to him. Said that Heath had told him that it was a very, very dark role and he had been having trouble sleeping since then. So, so sad.
