Heated Seats - Are they that important to you?

I can't stand leather seats, I am always slip sliding on them.
So no, it's not important to me at all.
I always make sure to get cloth seats which aren't cold in the winter, so no heat needed.

Love, love my heated seats!! I won't get a car without them. I don't know if anyone else has this problem but I am always cold. For me to get warm enough in the car in the winter I need to turn the heat way up to about 80. Which then causes my nose to get dried out and stuffy hard to breathe. With the heated seats I don't need to put the heat up as high only to about 70 and am comfortable.

Of course I could live without them, but I do like them!

Easier to bear the 10-degree air in the car when your butt and legs toasty-warm.

Probably because I live in KY with it's relatively mild winters I have never cared one way or the other about heated seats. My current car has cloth seats and in KY they're always warm enough from body heat.

One of my good friends has heated seats and I have to turn it off after about 2 minutes because it gets too hot. If I left that thing on all the time I'd have toasted buns by the time we got to our destination. There's probably some kind of control or something I don't know about though.

I could not possibly care less! I lived my whole life in Northern winters and never once wished "Gee, I wish I could get my bottom abnormally hot!"

I have them in my car and I never turn them on. I'm not even sure I know how.

When I lived in Missouri, oh yes...love the heated seats. Now here in Texas it is just a bonus.
But it would not be a "requirement" for me to buy a car.

I'd like some cooled seats. You can keep the heated seats. ;)

Yes - I'd love some cooled seats!

The only advantage I can think of for me is when I am traveling with my 85 year old father (who is always cold) I can put the heated seats on for him so I can survive.

Never thought about it helping an aching back, but I don't have back problems thank goodness.

I *think* I was the first to reply about the heated seats on PapaDeuce's thread.

In the winter, sometimes it takes quite a while for the car to warm up. Heated seats heat up almost instantly.

Sometimes, even in the summer, if my back is bothering me, I'll crank up the A/C (or open the windows), and turn on the seats. It really works. Sometimes, though, they can be too relaxing.

Plus, my DF, when her monthly friend visits, claims that it is a HUGE help for her cramps. (any females want to corroborate?)

As long as I'm living somewhere with cold winters, it is a must have for me! I've had them for over 6 years now and I love them! Dh loves that they come in temperature control now (not just on or off).

I live in Southern California so there is really no need for them. I have them though. I used to have a car that had heatd and cooled seats that came in a bit more handy. The heated seats do help me relax if I am going somewhere stressful like the dentist though. I flip them on no matter how hot it is.

I loved having bum warmers in my car when we lived in Maryland but now that I am home (where I belong :teeth: ) I wish I had a bum freezer. Dang its hot as heck down here right now!

I wouldn't consider a car that didn't have heated seats.

My new Odyssey has them--my first heated seats. They are nice in winter! I can't say that I would base my choice of vehicles on that, but if given a choice I would choose them. I would also choose a navigation system and XM radio. Yep, I like the bells and whistles, but I keep a vehicles for a long time, so it's worth it to me to get what I want! :cool1:
