We're heading out on our first Canadian Coast cruise in a few weeks (yay!). Was wondering the consensus re: the heat on the ship for a Canadian Coast and/or Alaskan cruise (doing that next summer). We've hit Gold doing Caribbean/Bahamian cruises, so this is an unknown for us. Hoping that it's not shorts weather inside the ship...Thanks for any insight

I can't speak to Alaska, but it was not super warm inside on our DCL Baltic cruise. I spent so much time with my one hoodie on I finally broke down and bought a second one. We're from Texas, though, and anything under 80 is cool to us.

During our June DCL Alaska cruise the Wonder was as comfortable inside as on our other seven DCL cruises we took to all over. Your cabin is at your discretion. We spent a lot of time on our verandah and dressed accordingly. Just take warm clothes, layers, and you'll be fine. We had mixed weather, from drizzle 50s in port to suntan 70's on deck.

I can't speak to the Alaska cruises specifically, but I've always found the interior temperatures (on any cruise ship, not just DCL) to be cooler than I like. I always have a sweater or wrap with me.

In fact, our Wonder cruise to Hawaii, the ship was soooooo cold that people were bringing blankets into the Walt Disney Theater to wrap up in for the evening shows.

I'm always warm on the Disney ships, and our Alaska cruise was no different than our Caribbean cruises in that respect, with one exception. For some reason, I thought the Walt Disney Theater was a good bit cooler for the naturalist presentations than during the evening shows. Perhaps because the theater was only about 1/4 full?

I rather imagine that they keep the temps cooler in the daytime for when the show staff is rehearsing. Probably didn't adjust it for daytime activities.

We did the Alaska cruise several years ago, the first part of June. My dd wore t-shirts and shorts/capris on the ship and I wore capris and short sleeve shirts on the ship and felt fine. I don't fine the dining rooms or theaters cold on the ship, I know others do though. On port days we did need jeans and jackets. I've lived in lots of different areas of the country(USA) and don't stop wearing shorts/t-shirts until it gets in the 50s either though, so I guess it just depends on what you consider cool/warm.

For our Canadian cruise last year I needed a thin sweater most of the time in doors. Or long sleeves. Several nights I even ended up wearing leggings under my dress/skirt just for a little more warmth. I wore pants or leggings during the day. That said, I was never actually freezing or anything. Ours was one of the earliest last year I think, mid Oct and the coldest day was actually leaving NYC (it was rainy). The rest was quite lovely.

I went prepared with layers and was comfortable.

We were on the Alaskan cruise in August. We thought the temp was fine inside. I was comfortable in a short sleeve shirt and my wife was comfortable layering. It did get really warm in the Walt Disney Theatre for the shows because there are a lot of people in there.

Perhaps the Hawaiian cool was in prep for release of FROZEN... just sayin'.
