I need suggestions and this board never fails me when it comes to these types of questions.
My son has wrestling practice at 6:30 am each morning. He really doesn't feel up to eating before practice, and has about 20 mins between practice and school that he can eat breakfast. The school makes it next to impossible to have a warm breakfast (not that it's necessary to have a warm breakfast every day, but some days would be nice). The cooks won't let the kids use a microwave, so they try to get the parents to buy into the crap breakfast they serve every day.
I need some ideas of some filling, somewhat healthy things he could take with him and eat before school.
I am going to also try getting him to drag himself out of bed 20 mins earlier in the morning but we all know how that goes.
He also says he doesn't really like to eat too much before practice because he doesn't feel the best during practice if he eats a lot.
Any ideas of what he could throw in his bag and eat that will give him enough fuel until lunch? The lunches at the school aren't too bad actually...they now serve all the whole wheat, healthier lunches so I don't mind that...but he has tried the breakfasts and says they are "gross".
I am making my grocery list and figured I'd see what ideas you guys have for me!
