HEADS UP....Dream/Magic Itinerary Change Fall of 2014

Sorry about that....I have added Dream to the title. I did not read the whole thread, just some posts....are the Fall Magic cruises affected too? If not I will delete Magic from the title.

I'm so curious to see how the Magic is affected, other than now sailing out of Port Canaveral instead of Miami. Would they notify all of those sailing on the Magic at a different time than those sailing on the Dream? I haven't seen any posts by those sailing on the Magic yet.....

I just curious how much more will change I'm on the dream in march and just hope it stays the same... Who knows though this could happen at anytime

Total bummer. What about spring instead?

Not worth it - spring is national holidays for the most part, while NJ week is low season as it only affects NJ.

Option will be to look at the Magic, specially if it will be moving to PC. I think the Wonder will be out of commission during that time due to it's dry dock.

March? No changes for March - this is for Oct/Nov 2014.

Let's all remember that the Wonder dry dock will happen during that time... It was expected the Wonder to do 7n Western out of PC.

So now all 4 ships will be at PC?

Thank you so much!

We have a cruise on the Magic booked for Oct 26 next year. So far I haven't received any emails. I'd actually prefer to sail out of PC since it's a much shorter drive for us and we wouldn't need to book a hotel room the night before (would save quite a bit of $$ there!) but I'm hoping our dates wouldn't get changed much. It isn't exactly far from Miami to PC but who knows how they have to do things. :confused3

Monday is a lousy time to fly/drive back for a 3 day. Guess they think people will be spending time at the park in stead. But yuck. The Thr-Sun was much better for us because we had time to drive back and not have to take an extra day off. Who is the ding dong that thought that up...maybe its just temporary...

Also what about people who can't change their airfare? What is Disney going to do about that?

I haven't been able to find any airfare rates for 2014, let alone book anything yet! :confused3

They were already changing to a Fri - Mon sch on the Dream Nov 17th, 2014. They have just moved the change up sooner.

Right - we are on a Southern out of San Juan Oct 2014 and Southwest doesn't release their calendar until March 2014 for that time!

This is theory only. Not based on anything specific I have have heard, just trying to think things through.

in 2014, both Dream and Wonder have to do drydock.
Dreams is a 3 year, but Wonder's may be a bigger deal.

My guess this is about using the ships to cover for each other.

Magic and Wonder can easily cover for each other size wise.

Covering for the Dream and its higher capacity may have something to do with it. I'm guessing they have to move the Magic to cover. Might even need more help from the Wonder.

Can anyone answer if the Dream has to go in by the 3rd anniversary of the inaugural or just that calendar year?

Is the Wonder due for its major dry dock like the Magic? Or just a regular 3 year one?

I wanted to mention that we (originally booked on the Nov 13 cruise) actually did get a phone call about this today. The call went to DH's cell, and he got a message basically restating the email, right around the time that I realized what was happening (thanks to this thread) and was telling him by IM.

I'm *so* glad I had a head's up on this, because if I hadn't seen this and checked my email, it would have been quite a shock for DH to tell me. I need easing into changes. :)

We were supposed to sail on the Magic out of Miami on Oct. 31. I got an email, and our cruise is just gone. Logged into my reservation and it has me booked for Jan. 2, 2015, on the Dream. I guess we will see what happens between now and the 11th. We also booked because of the way it worked with my daughter's school schedule, and we wanted to try out the new Magic.

I didn't think of that before. I just went to check our reservation (Oct 26-31) and it's still showing up normal. I wonder if they're moving on Halloween, then? :scratchin Following along closely, I'm curious to see what happens with all this.

We're waiting to see what happens to the Magic schedule as we're booked on the Christmas sailing out of Miami. I had a look on the DCL site and our reservation is still there but when I tried to search for the cruise I got the message

We apologize, but the vacation dates you've selected are currently sold out. We invite you to check back again later as space may become available; or, if your schedule is flexible, to select another date or destination. Thank you for your interest in Disney Cruise Line.

It does look like there will be changes as Scott's blog shows the Magic in Grand Cayman on 24th December and according to our original schedule, the 24th was a sea day and we weren't scheduled in Grand Cayman at all :confused3

Does anyone suppose that since many of us who are looking to book but holding off til it gets closer and til they figure something out, that minimal bookings could help rates ? :)

What is Scott's blog? I would love to figure out where the Magic is during our cruise.
