HEADS UP....Dream/Magic Itinerary Change Fall of 2014

Nothing yet, but when I login and look at my reservation, it shows the ship as the Wonder and not the Magic.

We haven't gotten a second email yet either. It doesn't matter anyway, because I think we'll end up moving it when 2015 comes out anyway. The revised itineraries don't really work that well, and that's okay. It was just nice to have a definite cruise to look forward to.

We had the second email for one of our cruises, but not for the second cruise (B2B).

I've called Disney today anyway and cancelled these cruises (due to the revised dates) and moved to the Fantasy for the Halloween Cruise 2014 instead (which actually worked out cheaper for us).

Here is a question.

We are booked for Dream end of May 4 day. I really wanted kids to experience BIG boat with all the fun stuff.

DH would rather do smaller boat. We did Wonder 2 / 2013

Would you knowing the Magic was going to be pretty close to bigger ships change to smaller ship.

1) is it less crowded
2) on C.C less people ... Port less crowded
3) will teen club on new magic still have music pod ( dd14 is so looking forward to that :/ )
4) Can we get longer cruise on smaller ship for just a little big more money.

It is driving me crazy to wait for the 18th.

Do you already have one of those cruises booked? If so you won't have to wait until the 18th to get it straightened out. According to my TA, "We can make changes to existing Dream cruises on the 11th, Magic/Wonder on the 12th and new bookings on the 18th."

We are one of the Magic/Wonder cruises. I was under the impression that if I wanted to switch back to the Magic (now out of PC) her schedule would not be complete until the 18th. Hope I am wrong.

The Magic is not going to be as big as the new ships, even with the structural change that extends it slightly. That won't impact the amount of space available to guests onboard. On CC of course there are fewer people on the Magic so it is much less crowded. We found it to feel almost deserted in January 2011 when we were there on the Magic. We won't know what if any changes will be made to the Vibe until after cruisers report back here. The prices for the Magic's cruises are expected to be higher due to the dry dock changes, so I wouldn't expect to find deals that would make a 7-night cruise only cost slightly more than a 4-night cruise. They are making the changes to help the classic ship compete with the new ships. They are putting a lot of money into those changes and probably expects to be able to recoup those costs through higher cruise fares.

In the past when changes like this have been made, DCL only allows people directly affected by the changes to adjust their cruises on those dates to give them the benefit to get it settled before they open the dates back up to everyone. The schedule she has posted would accommodate that. Hope that you are able to make the adjustment before then also. She has been on the mark for new itineraries & the like in the past, so I do trust her for information.

Just heard back from my TA. (from DU). She said they have not heard anything about changing sooner. Keep me posted.

For some reason I thought my email said I could call to discuss changes to my reservation after June 11 so I was checking the site this morning. Right now November and December are showing nothing for either the Magic or the Wonder. Then I went back to my email and saw that it actually said June 12 was the first day I could call. I'm not actually changing anything; my Dec 2014 cruise is a dummy date, but I'm hoping the changes will give me some clues to what will happen in 2015 when I'm aiming to cruise. :confused3

we were booked on the oct. 31 2014/Magic Cruise and got an email saying that we will be sailing on the wonder instead with same dates, room no. and everything else. says to call starting on the 12th.

Thinking of booking a cruise to Alaska for Sept. of 2014. The May cruises state that they stop in Sitka while the cruises for Sept. don't show Sitka as a port of call. Does anyone know if DCL is discontinuing the port of Sitka at some point? Reason I ask is that I have family in Sitka and would love to visit them while in port. Thanks for any and all assistance.

Sitka was only on the 9 night Alaska cruise. It was a one time deal. Maybe if they will add more in 2015, but there was only one sailing like that for 2014.

Today was the day my email said I could call regarding my Dream reservation, and it turns out that email gave a phone number specific to the issues. The CM I got could not have been nicer; of course it helped that I was just making sure it was all perfect on their end (we don't have to change anything).

Also to let them know that even though the emails are correct about the 4 night itinerary F, when I sign in to see my reservation it still shows a 3 night itinerary A. (I imagine it shows that because that itinerary isn't yet available again for the general public to book, while they get all the changes already-booked people have to make)

She was sweet and kind, and I'm happy I called that number instead of calling a main number ahead of time.

Rumors on the Wonder from CMs say it's not getting any changes until after the canal locks are finished. This makes sense, specially if DCL continues to Alaska in 2015.

We were supposed to be on the Dec 26th Magic Cruise in 2014 and were notified we are now on the Wonder. Not going to happen. Two things, we wanted to see the Magic updated and the ship at Christmas, I do not want to go on the Wonder, so we will be cancelling our trip. Oh well, we really didn't want to go out of Miami anyway, was just doing to see the updated Magic.

I got the notice a week after we confirmed our trip. I know Disney knew this was happening yet they let me make a reservation knowing I couldn't do it. Not happy about that. It would have been our 10th Disney cruise. Oh well, will book something else, but really sorry that they changed it on us.

Thanks for confirming changes to the Dream cruises could be made today. That means that those on the Wonder/Magic cruises can call tomorrow. :)
