I'm going to the GYN next month and will be getting my first "squishing" referral. I'm a little anxious about being "squished" (especially since I'm not too found of the radiology place where they'll send me), but it's gotta be done.

I had mine recently and was pleasantly surpised that it did not bother me as much as the last two. This technican was great and didn't need to re-do any shot...yay! And all results came back ok.

My first two were somewhat painful...but the tech I had today was wonderful! Went quickly and no do-overs!

I do schedule my mammos during the "right time of month" so I know the painful mammograms I've had in the past had nothing to do with that.

I think it depends on the tech who is doing it!

LOL, I just went today for the first time. My mom had me a nervous wreck, but it was not bad at all. I won't dread it next time.

Hope all goes well Blondie. I've been having one every 6 months since a lump (thankfully benign) was found a couple years ago. I don't mind the mammogram too much, but I have very little to squish.

Please don't put this off. If you are due, you need to go. It's not that bad. A little squish could save your life!

I wouldn't have found my breast cancer until it was too late if I hadn't gone for a mammogram. It was fast-growing and in the ducts so there was no lump to feel. I was terrible about doing self-exams, so it would have spread all over before I knew it.

Thanks for reminding folks to go. I'm scheduled for my 6 month squish again in April.

I did my first one on Halloween! (My 40th birthday was October 27 - so I just scheduled it for a few days later)


It wasn't nearly as FRIGHTENING as I was led to believe.
