Wow! What I'm about to say (type) I mean in a good way, but I'm glad that Saturday is finally over. My brother got married yesterday, and the days leading up to the wedding were compete chaos. My SIL and I both had problems with the alterations of our dresses (her wedding dress and my bridesmaid dress), my SIL got a sinus infection on Wednesday, and we had a massive thunder and lightning storm last night that caused some minor damage (downed trees, etc.) in the area.

That aside, the wedding was very nice. The ceremony was held in a historic Presbyterian church, and it was a very nice place to hold the ceremony. The only negative about this church was that, because of its age (it was built in the early 1800's), there was no air conditioning or any form of cooling system; only a small wood-burning stove stood to the side of the altar to keep it warm in the winter. As a result, the best man (who unfortunately suffers from excessively high blood pressure) passed out from the heat right before the first kiss. He's okay, fortunately, and the rest of the evening went off without a problem.

We didn't get home until 11:30 last night, but it was a great night. Now if only I cound find the right guy so that I could get married!

So true, jamsmom! Just trying to find a single man between ages 18-25 at all can be hard. Seriously, Tim (best man) is now 100% better, and Greg and Kelly are on their honeymoon. What a day!

Debi - isn't it nice to be able to sit back and take a deep breath. Glad to hear it was a nice wedding. As far as the guy goes, what about one of those burly guys behind you in your picture. A man in a kilt sure is sexy! Think I'll go watch Braveheart again. Mel Gibson in a kilt, it doesn't get much better than that!

dtuleya, I wouldn't mind dating any one of those 5 guys behind me. You're right, there is something about a man in a kilt that's sexy (I hope I didn't just get myself in trouble for saying that!).

browneyes, I tried to talk them in to going to WDW for their honeymoon, but they vetoed that and decided on Cape Cod instead. I tried!

SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. (August 19) - A North Haven bride spent part of her wedding night in a jail cell, after police said she hurled things at reception hall workers who closed the bar.

Adrienne T. Samen, 18, was arrested on criminal mischief and breach of peace charges Saturday after police responded to The Mill on the River restaurant.

When workers there closed the bar, Samen allegedly began throwing things, including wedding cake and vases. Samen left the restaurant, and police found her walking down the road in her gown.

While being taken into custody, police said she kicked the door and window of the police cruiser and tried to bite an officer.

She posted a $1,000 bond and was released Saturday night, police said. She was on her honeymoon Monday.

She is due in Manchester Superior Court on Aug. 28.

Yes, dtuleya, I did see that. As many things that went wrong during my brother's wedding, nothing could have been worse than that. My SIL and I have a joke about something similar to that. My brother and SIL went to a wedding in June, ad the mother of the bride showed up wearing a red leather mini skirt. Everyone was so surprised by that that my SIL kept asking herself "Is is worse than the red miniskirt?" Thankfully, for everything that went wrong for my brother and SIL, the answer to that question is always no.
