I posted this on the restaurant board, but didn't get much response so I'm hoping y'all can give me some more info. I want to do HDDR on our next trip  but am stuck with either category 2 or 3 since we're doing the dining plan. I think for category 2, you can do either floor level under the balcony, or balcony center.

I'd love a good table and my family would really love it if we were involved in the show at all. Can anyone give me a guess as to which area of category 2 would be better for us?

TIA!

Leslie

Consider paying out-of-pocket and not using your DP credits at all. That way you aren't "stuck" and you can go with category 1 seating if you like.

You can get involved in the show from any table in the hall. The cast members will go up into the balcony to talk with people, and will also move around the main floor. They do a great job bringing the entire audience into things. We have sat at center balcony and I'll tell you, the view of the show is awesome! I've never sat Cat 2 floor so can't compare, but we loved our Cat 2 balcony table. Last month, we had Cat 1 seats and were literally right next to the stage. In fact, during the show I could rest my elbow on the stage itself. That was amazing, and we were pulled into the show at least 6 times, such as comments from the cast about my daughters, and Six Bits grabbed my napkin when I was twirling it over my head. Fun stuff. If you aren't really close to the stage, I don't think your interaction would be much different between Cat 2 floor or balcony, and I think you would like the view from the balcony. JMO.

It's one of those things all seats are good seats, and they do get the WHOLE audience involved no matter where you're sitting.

Last year we sat in cat 2 floor using the dining plan and our seats were great!

In the past we sat in the balcony along the side and we thought those seats were great, too. In retrospect they were probably considered some of the "worst" seats in the house but they were still good. I don't think you can go wrong with any seats in there.

Glad to hear all of that. Thanks!

Leslie,

We sat Cat 2 on bottom level back middle right under the balcony edge the first time we did HDDR. It's true that the cast does go upstairs but they spend more time downstairs and being on the lower level will put you a little closer. With the elevated stage you can see just fine so if I had to chose I would go lower level (in Cat 2) although next time I do HDDR I will probably do Cat 3 myself. We had a Cat 1 last time right off the steps on the left side of the Stage and got a lot of face time with the cast but that was dumb luck!

Enjoy! :yay:

I think if you go to the 9:30 show you can get cat. 1 seating using the DDP.

Thanks for the tip, but this chick doesn't do 9:30 shows - no way for me to make rope drop the next morning after such a late night!

Hey Ed! Thanks for the info - That's exactly what I was wanting to know. While I very much believe that all tables are good, I think I'll ask for Cat 2 lower level. I'm very excited about this show and appreciate your input!

You can get Cat 1 at the 9:30, we did it and it was fabulous! Of course we were on west coast time so 9:30 worked really well for us!
