Hello,
Has anyone ordered a veggie meal at Hoop de Doo? If so, what was it and was it good?
Thanks in advance,
Buttercup:D

We called and ask for an alternative since our kids dont eat meat(well, hotdogs & bologna, but thats it). We were able to get mac and cheese with french fries for them.

I always get a vegetarian meal at HDDR. It's pasta (ziti, I think) with tomato sauce, a baked potato and a vegetable. It's really pretty good.

Does anyone know if the vegetarian altenative is "all you can eat" at the HDDR???

Thanks in advance!!

That sounds YUMMY!!

One of the reasons I didn't book this was because I had heard it was "a plate of veggies" and didn't want to pay $50 for "a plate of veggies" BUMMER!!

Thank you so much for your replies. That meal sounds good. I know we're really paying for the entertainment, but I didn't want to leave hungry!

I don't know if the meal is all you can eat, because I've never finished even half of it. The bread and butter is sooooooo good there, that I can't help but fill up on it. You also get a salad and strawberry shortcake for dessert. You're also welcome to eat anything else on the table (like baked beans (although I don't know if it has meat in it or not) and corn.)

If I were to guess I would bet that they get their stuff at the connecting Trail's End restaurant and bring it over for special requests. Not saying it would get you anywhere but I might stop in and look at the buffet and if something caught my eye (like a veggie soup) I might ask the server at HDDR if "by any chance" a veggie soup might be available, as well? Might work.

Not sure if that would work because they ask you to pre-order your meal at least a day in advance. I remember being given a couple of other choices too, I think one of them was fish (I don't remember exactly, but it didn't seem to be too vegetarian to me).

Doesn't seen vegetarian to me either. But a lot of times, when I tell someone I am a vegetarian, they ask if I eat fish. Or if I say I don't eat meat, they ask what about chicken or turkey. I just don't get it, what part of vegetarian no meat don't some people understand?? :)

I've read on this board once or twice that someone's child wouldn't eat anything so the server would run to the Trail's End kitchen and get something the child would eat. Also I've read that the two restaurants share have the same fried chicken so the kitchen sharing thing has been speculated here before. As I said, it would just be a chance...

I'm laughing about the "not so vegetarian" meal of fish. I wonder if it is because fish, chicken and turkey aren't cute and cuddly people think we can eat them? It is still animalprotein/fat no matter what package it came in. Thanks for posting about the veggie choice at HDDR. I was hoping it wasn't just a plate of veggies :p and this alternative sounds good. Our kids will eat pasta and potato :smooth: add in good bread and strawberry dessert and we are set. Do you think they will go back to having corn on the cob? Kids LOVE it on the cob, why would they ever change?
