I'm planning our next trip for Oct 15-23. This one MUST be a budget trip. Trying to find the best hotel rate with breakfast included. Value trips has the Hawthorne Suites (6435 Westwood Blvd, near Sea World) for $59 per night. Sounds like a great deal. But, if we're going to stay 5 miles out, I want to be sure it's a decent hotel before I book. Anyone ever stay at this property?

you were reading my mind we are going down a couple of days before our cruise and want to stay near seaworld as it is something we might do before we cruise, going to wdw after the cruise, i did some search engines and also check the seaworld board on here, let me know what you find

First the good:
1. Staff was helpful.
2. Pool was very, very warm and clean.
3. Public area of the hotel was well cared for and clean.
4. The location was handy, easy to get on and off main roads-airport,wdw
etc. (I do not, do I- drive!!)
5. Price was right.
6. Breakfast was handy, I stuck with toast and fruit, tea, milk.

The OK.
1. The cooked breakfast food, not great.
2. Washer and dryer not working.

The bad.
1. This place needs updated.
2. While the room did appear clean, it is hard to not to notice, nicks and walls, stains and worn furniture, etc.

I would stay again for a few days, I am glad we were only there for 3 nights. I need a cheerier place for my vacation.

Ask any question you have. :flower1:

I would agree with pretty much all of these points (except for the pool and laundry, but only because I didn't use them, so I can't comment).

It's not the nicest and newest hotel in Orlando, but it certainly isn't the worst hotel I've ever visited either. It wasn't noticably run-down or dirty, but it was worn (I stayed there in September 2003).

The breakfast was edible, but the french toast was a little soggy after sitting in the warming tray for a while, the sorts of things you'd probably expect from a free hotel breakfast.

If you're going to Sea World, it's a relatively short walk through what I believe is the Sea World employee parking lot. It's not a short walk, but it's not too long either. In fact, it's probably not any further than the walk from the Universal Parking Lot to Universal Studios (and possibly shorter).

It is easy to get to I-4, I-Drive, 528 (to and from airport or to Kennedy). If you go past the I-4 interchange and go to Turkey Lake road heading north, you'll be at Universal before you know it.

For the price, I don't think you can get a much better deal, especially for a suite.
