I am in the process of working on my DD3 autograph book and am having trouble placing and resizing the images into a Word document. Could anybody please provide any assistance with this? I'm making a 4x6 book and am trying to get 2 images per page so I can then cut and have them bound at Kinko's. When I copy the pages from photobucket, they are so large when I paste them into Word, then when I resize them, each page comes out completely different so there would be no way for me to make one single cut to have the pages the same size, know what I mean? Is it best to just do 1 image per page and cut each individually?

I want to have the books bound at the top and loved how Natalie makes her books, but this is proving to be more difficult than I orginally thought it would be!

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

Ok, here's what I did.

1) Choose the images you want to use (in photobucket), click on them to make them bigger, right click on the image, choose "save photo as", save it into a file on your computer
2) Once you have all the images you want, open the folder on your computer where you saved the images and also open a new word document, set the top and bottom margins of the word document to 1"
3) Right click on the first image, choose "copy", go into the word document and paste the image into it
4) Right click on the image in the word document, choose either "size" or "format" (depending on which version of word you are using), set the size to 4"x6" or as close as you can get without going over, make sure that the image is centered on the page
5) Put in a space below the first image and then paste in the second image, size it to 4"x6" and then rotate the image 180 degrees (so that it is upside down)
*By inverting the bottom image, you are guaranteed to have the 1" of white space above the image that you will need for binding
6) Continue with the rest of the images, placing two images on each page
7) Print out your pages on card stock (I used 110 lb card stock for extra sturdiness - you can buy it at Walmart or any office supply store)
8) Cut your pages so that each image has a 1" white border at the top (for binding), and 1/2" white border on each side. You will end up with cards that are 5x7

I think that's everything. If I left something out or if you have any questions just ask. Good luck! :goodvibes

Thank you so much for your detailed instructions on how you did yours, I really appreciate it! For the life of me, I can't figure out how to rotate the bottom picture. When I add the drawing box, I see where the button is to rotate the image, but it's "grayed out" so I can't even get to it! Any ideas on how to fix this?

In addition, no matter what I set my margins at, I can't seem to get two images per page. I did exactly as you stated. Copied one pic into word, resized it into a 4x6. Then I went into photobucket to copy another pic, but when I tried to copy that one into word, it copies right over the other one I just did! Even when I try to add a space after the first picture, it moves my picture down the document! What is going on with this!?

try this:

Copy and paste your first picture using the above margins and sizing it to 4x6 as mentioned by pp.

turn your paper around (be sure you know how your printer feeds) copy and paste another image over the previous one, then print. It really shouldn't take any more time and might be easier for you to do.

Hope that makes sense.
You should have no problem fitting the 2 images.

Send me your file and I'll look at it! You have my email right??

I have Word 2007. If you'd like me to send you my template, I will. My pics are sized a little larger than 4x6 but they still fit two to a page. All I have to do on mine is right click on the pic and then I have an option to change picture. I click there and then choose a new pic that I've uploaded to "My pictures". Then I save the new document as the name of the characters. It's been so easy thanks to all the help I've had here. I just keep using the same template over and over.

Sherri,
I think I see what you did. When I copied the images from photobucket originally, I saved them as photos into a seperate folder that I created on my computer (called, unoriginally, "Autograph Book"). When I open that folder, it shows little thumbnail pictures that I can then copy from my own folder and paste into a Word document. To rotate the image, I right click on the image in Word, choose "size" and put the number 180 into the rotation box. I hope Vicki's template works for you, but if it doesn't you can try this method. I just printed all my images yesterday, so now I have to make the cover, laminate it, and have it bound at Kinkos or Staples. I'll try to get the pics up sometime next week. The things we do for our kids! :rotfl:
