Having to check in again?

I had checked in several weeks ago and was given boarding group 3 - Platinum taking disney transportation. I received confirmation of this at the time. Just yesterday I received notice that my online check in was not complete. We are traveling with family and have 3 other rooms. There wasn't an issue with any of the other rooms. The only possibility is my brother reassigned the charges of his daughter who is in my room to him. All our reservations are linked. I had to resign the cruise contract (didn't have to redo arrival info/ photos) and am now in group 4. The other difference is that we were VGT and since I checked in, a room has been assigned. Has this happened before where you are "kicked off" of a check in and are reassigned a boarding group. I'm hoping that we will be able to board with family since we are arriving together and am now reading about the slower Treasure embarking process.

I had that happen once; it turned out to be a glitch. Even though I’d redone the check-in we eventually got our earlier boarding group back due to using DCL transportation to the port.

However, I had my TA call to check on it. If you’re working with a TA, you can have them call to check and see if you can regain your previous boarding group. If no TA, maybe try calling yourself?

When I sailed on the Treasure a few weeks ago, we were assigned BG3 when we checked in for the bus at MCO and then given BG2 as we got off the bus at PC. The group that we were given at check in didn't matter at all. It might be different at other ports, though.

They gave you the new boarding group as you got off so you can check in when you arrived at the port? We are sailing the Treasure so this is reassuring to know.

They had us check in at MCO so that we could skip the check in at the port. We just went through security and then sat for a few minutes until they called BG2.

For us, it went like this:

We arrived at the bus area at MCO at about 9:30. We gave our luggage to the luggage people, then checked in at the desk. They activated our DisneyBand+s and then gave us a paper with a character on it (Ariel!) so that we knew which bus to board. That paper also said that we were assigned boarding group 3. We waited about 30 minutes for our bus.

After riding the bus to PC (a bit less than an hour), we had to wait on the bus for about 10 minutes because some other buses had just arrived and they wanted to avoid congestion going into the terminal. After a while, a DCL representative came on to talk at us.

As we got off the bus, they had us line up and they gave us all BG2 cards while we waited to enter the terminal. This wait was about 2-3 minutes. Then, we went through security and rode up the escalators to the waiting area. We had to wait about 5-10 minutes for them to announce the family of the day, then about 5 minutes more for BG2 to be called.

Overall, we got to Marceline Market a few minutes before they opened for lunch and had no problem getting a nice window table.

(This was a few weeks ago, though. It might be different if the new procedures described in that other thread aren't a one-time thing.)
