Having POints Transferred into your Account

If a member transfers points into your account, what kind of points are they.

Say the person is transferring OKW points. Do they then remain OKW points or could you have them transferred into your BCV points?

Do they retain the original Use Year? I would think yes on this one.

Anything else I may want to know about having points transferred to you?

They are supposed to remain OKW points but Disney's computer system does not do a good job of tracking that. They go under the contract that you transfer them into. I'm sure Disney is working on a way to solve that. I had personal experience with this and it was time consuming to get DVC to consider them their original resort after I had points transfered into another resorts contract without realizinng this problem they had of keeping track.

Yes they retain their original use year and that is kept track of well.

I had BCV points with a March 2004 use year transferred into my February 2004 VWL use year. I wanted to use them as BCV points to get the 11 month window for a family reunion. I had to really push MS to keep them as BCV points as they had made them VWL points.

make sure they identify them manually as bcv points and use them as soon as you can.Make sure you write down the date you carried out the transaction and who did it for you.
In my bwv account I have an addon of ssr points.
the ssr points lost their identity and I was able to book time this month atokw using these points.

I'm confused.

What if I own at 3 different resorts. Can I transfer my VWL pts into my VB account and then those are suddenly VB pts?

Does this mean that you can transfer into whatever account you want to so you can take advantage of the 11 month window?

Why would there be a need to transfer pts from one account to the other? (between your own accounts, I understand about transfering to another member)

Am I missing something?

If you have 3 different accounts all with the same use year they will most likely go under the master contract (the 1st one you bought). If you have different use years they will go into the contract that you transfer them into.

Yes. It is a loophole in the system that I have been told will be plugged. But that doesn't make it right. It is still against the rules to knowingly do it and you may call any day and it won't be the case anymore.

If you have different use years and not enough points to complete a reservation. I think this issue is more something that happens between two members as opposed to one member.
