Hi - thought I'd toss this out there to see what other folks have experienced.

We are staying at BLT - can family members from the area come into and park at the BLT/Contemporary parking area without a ADR at the resort or a actual resort room reservation? The purpose of them coming to the resort is to visit with us for a few hours.
I've asked this question to two different CM's and got two different answers. First answer was a simple, "No.". The other answer I got was "Yes, all they need to do is tell the guard that they are visiting guest easyas123 who is in room 1234 and they will be allowed to park and will not be charged parking unless they stay overnight."

Has anyone had this situation, and if so- were your guests allowed to park?

Thanks -

Every time we have stayed at the Boardwalk (three times) our local friends have parked at the Boardwalk to come and visit us. They have not had to pay. They do have an annual pass, though I don't think that includes free resort parking.

Yes, they'll be allowed to park. The guard in the gatehouse at the entrance to the parking lot will ask why they're there, they just need to say that they're visiting with a guest and give your name. The guard will look you up on their computer, might ask them to see a photo ID, and they'll be waved through.

There's never a charge for self-parking for day visitors for Disney resorts. There is a charge for overnight guests staying at the resort, and for valet parking (at resorts that offer it).

My husband and I are planning a week at Pop Century (Wed-Wed) and hope that our adult DD and her BF can join us for the weekend. Do I...
a) book the week for 2 people and call to let Disney know we will have 4 for 2 of the nights (understanding they will charge for the add'l adults)?
b) book the week for 2 people and let Disney know at check-in that we will have 4 for 2 of the nights?
c) book the week for 4 people and pay the add'l charge for the full stay even though they will only be there for part?
d) book Wed-Thurs nights for 2 people, Fri-Sat nights for 4, Sun-Tues nights for 2 and somehow link the reservations?
e) other?

The easiest way would to just add them to the reservation on the day they arrive. This would also be the cheapest. This works even if you are on a package and/or dining plan. They just would not be eligible for the dining plan if you have it. They would also qualify for ME to/from the Airport as soon as they are added to your reservation.

Have one of them create a MDE account and then you can invite them to join your friends and family group and you can make all the FP+ at the 60 day mark and/or they can make their own at the 60 day mark since they are part of your group in MDE..

Assuming you don't have any of the dining plans, you can do "b" and pay the extra adult fees only for the nights they will be there.

When we stayed at the Yacht Club last October, my daughter and her husband joined us the last two days. We actually could not add them for just those two days until the morning they arrived. The system didn’t allow them to add them on for a portion of our stay in advance. It was quick and easy. We added them the morning they were coming in, headed to a park and when they got there they just went to the desk and got their bands activated.

I wouldn’t book separate reservations, it’s not necessary and you run the risk of possibly having to change rooms.

I just did this at Pop a week ago. My BIL decided to join my sister and I for a couple nights. We just all went to the front desk on our way back to the room the first night he was there and took care of it.
