Having a horrible time trying to get a cake!!!

I have been seaching this forum and found a couple of numbers that I thought would work for ordering a birthday cake for my DH on our Trip May 19 - 23rd. We are staying at the BWI, but, from what I have read, the cakes from here are less than tasty. I really want to have a nice, delicious, wonderful cake for him.

I would really like to have a cake made for our dinner at Artist Point on the 22nd - so I called the 407-wdw-bday number, and they gave me a 470-560-5179 number who gave me a 407-824-2660 number... that doesn't work!

I first thought I could use the GF bakery, but now I know they only deliver to GF restaurants, and while we are having dinner at V&A's on the 21st, I have heard that it would be a mistake to pass up the desserts there - do why do a cake there, right?

Can anyone help me? I have seen some beautiful cakes on the thread with all the pictures, and I just want to call to order one for my ever loving DH. We leave on Friday, so I would love to get this done by Wednesday if possible. I have been calling around for over a week now with no luck.

oh, I also saw the pic of the tuxedo strawberries... is it possible to order these thru room service at the BWI? DH would love those, and they would be great for a romantic night at the hotel

Have you tried calling the restaurant directly? We got a cake for SO's mom our last trip. Actually waited until we got there and went to the concierge desk at the hotel and they called the restaurant for us and got everything set up.

Last year I just called the reservations line and they helped me w/ everything. (407-w-disney). The CM told me about it and thats when I ordered something. Hope this works for you. Tell me what happens.

The number I was given to order a cake at the Poly for O'hanas is 407 824 2165. I haven't used it yet. Please let me know if it works. Thanks

Order from the Grand Floridian Bakery. I got mine there and it was great.

We did my daughter's birthday (DD7 at the time) at Artist Point in 2005. I do remember getting a number from WDW dining which did not work, and calling back and getting a second number -- which is what it sounds like you did. It did take me a few attempts to get through to them. I think I ended up waiting until late afternoon, figuring I was calling Artist Point which is only open for dinner (sorry I can't remember the exact details of what I did...the memory is not what it used to be...). If that doesn't work, maybe you could call the front desk of the Wilderness Lodge and see if they have a different number they could give you?
