I have birds - cardinals actually - constantly throwing themselves against my windows. :rotfl2: It started as two specific windows and I kept hearing THUD THUD yesterday but now it seems they invited friends and it's coming from all over the house!!:rotfl: :rotfl: Dumb birds. They haven't done this in years but when DS was little he called them "window peckers". They are so stupid.

THUD THUD THUD all day.:sad2: I am going to crack.:rotfl2:

So, I was looking at that FD dealy thingy. If I could get myself to book a mod I might have wnated to do it. I jsut can't handle double beds. I'd be miserable with lack of sleep. I am really surprised they aren't offering Deluxes.....didn't they before? Disney is getting stingier and stingier.

Did anyone watch "The Last Lecture" last night. I think it was on 48 hours or one of those shows. Anyway- this guy is a college professor who is dying of cancer. They showed parts of the last lecture he gave. To say the least..it was inspiring and spread over the internet.

Anyway- it showed how he and his family were spending his final months and how he was so positive. They showed a lot of shots of them at WDW and they showed him tucking his kids into bed at the GF. I cried like a baby until I finally fell asleep.

I saw him on Oprah (I think it was Oprah) a while ago. SO SAD. :sad1: I also saw him on GMA when he originally gave this lecture last fall I believe. I cried and cried and felt like crap all day and for a while after!!:guilty: I couldn't watch this story again. It is heartbreaking & I can't imagine being him or his wife or kids. I get the inspiring part, but it's still torture to me to watch. :guilty:

You can book a deluxe, they just don't advertise it since it's no longer a huge savings. I priced the upgrade to the WL from PO-FQ for a friend and it was $1,000 more. To me it's worth it for larger beds and better transportation options. Not to her, she does values so that was an upgrade to the mod.

The way I figured it out, you save about $500. If you travel value resorts in value season, then it's a huge savings. If you travel deluxe, in peak (like I do) it's no longer a huge deal. I spent that already on DL's Richard Petty Experience and his Segway tour :rotfl:

Plus I honestly feel the dining package is a pain to deal with. It doesn't cover your entire stay, it's per night not per day. DH hates counter service so it wouldn't work for us anyway.

I think it's great they offer it. My friend only travels to WDW when they offer free dining. It's the only way she can afford to go.

Someone posted a link to it on you tube on the podcast boards a few weeks ago. So good! I cried too. Made me stop and enjoy my kids and thank God for my health!

We have a guy at our church who is a single dad and just found out he has cancer and it's pretty bad. His little boy is 1 and the mom has not been in the picture since she ditched him right after the baby was born. He is a gorgeous child, blond and blue eyed, I have fallen in live with him  and can't figure out how a mother could do this? Any ways the guys family is pretty crummy and not responsible enough to take care of his son so he is looking for a family to possiblely adopt his son. That would be the hardest thing, could not imagine. :sad1:

If you go to Oprah's website she has all the videos, etc. from when he was on her show in the fall. They interviewed a doctor( actually it might have been his doctor),too.
It is such an inspiring talk and what an inspiring man! I know he said he was going to continue with experimental treatments. Did they talk about how he's doing right now?

Channing, are you drowning in this rain??? :sad2: I am so done with this weather!! I should be happy that it isn't snow but I hate the rain!!! We are going to get drenche tomorrow!!

So DH gave the go ahead to order a cake and have it sent to Pop for DS's birthday. I am not sure where they get it from but I can pre-order and pick it up in the food court. I thought I would do it on our P&P Party day since we will spend midday at the resort in the pool. I am going to bring some Mickey bday decorations and decorate the room for a birthday party- he'll think Mickey did it!!

34 days and counting!!!

At the end of the show they visited with him again and his health has really declined. I believe they said his kidneys had shut down and he had just gotten out of the hospital. The interview was at his home.

You are so lucky to be leaving in 34 days. We are drowning down here in Central Illinois. We just built a house and I have five acres of mud right outside my door. I do not think my grass is every going to grow in this weather!!

Have a great time!

I'm drowning, tooo!!! Just got back from the grocery store and wouldn't ya know it I needed gas, too?!?!?! My jeans are soaked. It is icy rain, too!!! Jojo's soccer practice is called off today and their first game Sat is, too....OMG the dumb birds are still at it throwing themselves at my windows!! :rotfl:

Glad you didn't get a Hummer!! THey are dog ugly. :rotfl: A girl at DS's school drives a Pepto pink one....maybe you've seen it tooling aroud town?? I saw it and thought somebody sure got a deal on an ugly car, haha....but DS said her daddy specifically ordered it in Pepto pink because it's her fave color.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: THAT has to be the ugliest Hummer I've ever laid eyes on. I have a new (but dented by a drunk:headache: ) Nissan Pathfinder. I could have had any SUV I wanted but I chose my cute little Pathfinder because it downsized me from my Sequoia and it has lots of bells and whistles. :rotfl: And DH has a black 350 Z roadster convertible so I got a black one, too. He drives a fun Wrangler in winter and I get it with no top in the summer! It's the girls and my vacation car.:goodvibes :thumbsup2 So if you see some crazy girls cruising around in an orange and black Wrangler with Animal on the antenna....that's us!!! haha...We need some warm weather!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kelly is going to WDW for Mothers Day weekend!!!!!:cool1: She just wants to see if anybody else will be there, too.....that butt.:rotfl: Kristin, your trip is coming up FAST!!!!! OMG....34 days...whoohooo!

See, that's why you guys have me contemplating this new DDP deal....although I would HATE the DDP. I do not like counting credits etc...I know I'd wind up paying a ton OOP, too. I am totally disorganized. I like to be free and flexible. I will only stay deluxe, though....that's always how it's been and there is no turning back now. When do you go, Mare?? I thought PEAK season was spring break and holiday? Did they change it now??? They are always making more Peak seasons, haha.....It seems that's all we go in anymore, too, because of the kids school and schedules....PLUS with Disney making almost the whole year PEAK, that happens. I think our last trips have been holiday, spring break and summer.....all some form of PEAK haha....

Talk to ya later:)

We always end up going during peak season. Its crazy but I think that if you take the time to learn about the ddp you will be golden.

Hello, Hello Ladies!!

Sorry to hear about the weather, in NY today its 70 degrees, but the rain is coming!!

OK, I am finished bathing suit shopping just a few coverups and I am done. I actually found 5!!! I know I am shocked too!!

Mandymommy4

I am happy to hear about your sister and if this guys loves WDW then I tend to think he might be a keeper!! I have a single BI he's 43 and dates very often, but I worry about him being lonely. He eats here almost every night and had come to WDW with us. I wish he'd find someone!!!!

Channing

I am still laughing about the birds!!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

The family that I help with their WDW trip came home yesterday and they got BITE!!! Their going back next year and staying at the GF next time!!!:woohoo: :yay:

I saw that guy on Oprah also, very inspirational. But so sad!!!

I have seen that pink Hummer!!! :rotfl: DH said he doesn't care how manly a guy is, even if it is his wife's car, he still wouldn't be caught dead in it!!! I'm not sure why he wanted an H2 so bad :confused3 He wanted to get SCHLBUS as the license plate too :sad2: I am SO glad we went for the Infiniti (Our big Silver elephant as DH calls it!). It rides so smooth and is fully loaded- I will never drive witout navigation again!! :rotfl:

Kelly- Hooray for Mother's Day!!! Which hotel are you at this time??

I know I am in the minority, but we love the DDP. I just book my meals, don't think about how much it all costs (i.e. we aren't those who try to "maximize" the DDP). We usually have more TS meals booked than we do credits, so we just pay OOP for the extra. The CS's mostly go towards lunch and breakfast (and somehow they all get used :rotfl: ) I love the new Deluxe Dining Plans so I can have JUST TS meals. We do mostly signature dinners and character breakfasts and use all those snacks for breakfast. We don't plan out our snacks like some do- if we are hungry for ice cream then we use them, need a bottle of water, we use it (again, not about maximizing). On the last day we check to see how many are left (not usually too many since we go thorugh TONS of water in that heat) and just stock up on prepackaged snacks to bring with on the plane. I don't find the plan horribly inflexible since you need to make ADR's for a TS meal in advance irregardless if you are on the DDP or not... We hate CS meals. I would be mad if I didn't make any ADR's and got turned away as a walk up and got stuck with just CS meals!! Sure, it takes some advance planning, but I am always messing around with dates and times even up to the week before we arrive and usually have great luck getting what I want. As for the "too much food" argument, I don't feel compelled to scrape my plate. We do character breakfasts for the characters not the food, so we don't stuff ourselves. It is just so much more convenient to see them at a restaurant and not wait in the lines in the park. As for lunch or dinner TS meals we just sample- if I am not hungry I don't HAVE to eat it all. CS meals we do a lot of sharing (mostly because we hate the food, not because we aren't hungry!! :rotfl2: ) That being said, the plan isn't for everyone, but it is great for us!!!

Take Care!
Kristin

We are booked at the AKL concierge for mothers day weekend.

Its wicked nice here today!! In the 60s and warm.

I would love to do Free Dining but I know my hubby will say "NO" and I am not giving up those X-mas lights!! I have enjoyed the DP in the past. We usually use all of our TS and have a lot of counter left over. I think if you do one TS a day it is well worth it or at least for my family since both my girls are not full price yet.

It is going to be such a LONG wait until December. I guess I am glad I have this thread to help pass the time!

Channing- I cannot believe your DS goes to school with a girl that drives a pink hummer. That is CRAZY! I guess since we are from a farming community...all you see is 4 wheel drive trucks :rotfl: I thought my girls were spoiled...now I feel so much better!
