Good morning gals! :goodvibes

I am trying to catch up on the thread. It has been busy around here. Today is Lily's 4th Bday and we are heading to the Tea Room with 11 little girls. YIKES! I have been busy trying to get everything together.

Annette, Evie and M&P hope you guys all have a great time!

Evie~ You better call me daily to give me the run down of events so I can live through your vacation! Hopefully you called DVC yesterday and got your ressies worked out.

My internet is SLOW, SLOW, SLOW! We have had a lot of storms so I think that may have something to do with it. My SIL called last night. We rent her our house in town and we had a HUGE tree in the yard fall. It fell across the street and into the park. Looks like dh is taking the day off to remove it. I told him I am not paying $1000 plus for someone to take it down. Tree removal is crazy expensive!

Well~ hope you all have a good day! :flower3:

Morning peeps! I am off for day 2 of VBS! AHHH, 180 kids and 6 30 min classes of teaching the same music and motions too gets old real fast! Gotta run, I need to get my hula skirt on, LOL! I get to wear a hula skirt, crazy Hawaiian shirts and teach bare foot! Made me think of all our crazy brady bunch luv'n friends one monorail ride away from the GF! :lmao:

:wizard: Happy Birthday to Lilly!!! My girls are 2 of the 11 going to the tea party and they are excited!!!!. Kenzie wants to wear her party dress now. We will see you soon....

The storms we had were pretty bad. The sirens went off for about 15 min and we had to stay down in the basement. Boy, does that freak my children out:scared1: So, needless to say not a good night of rest around here. I am kind of freaking out because less than 48 hours till we leave and tons to do....

We started our own business(pavement business) less than 2 years ago and we are in the process of putting up a huge building for all our stuff and my DH was pretty nervous last night with 60 mph winds. We don't need that to get ruined right before flying away. He already is pretty stressed leaving for a week. Thank goodness I ordered :drinking1 cocktails for the room to calm his nerves. I am determined for us to all relax and enjoy the magic:wizard:

V- I should have you call DVC for me, I chickened out i don't want to cause more confusion.... to our trip. Hopefully, it all works out.

Chicago girls, did you register for the Doorway event??? I actually went ahead and signed up for the 8/3 event. We get back 8/1 and that is our 12th anniversarypixiedust: , so I thought it might be fun to go to Woodfield and take kids to Cheesecake Factory and maybe get lucky and win a trip??? They always love seeing Mickey Mouse and gang. It sounds good...:rotfl:

Everyone have a great day and wish me luck getting everyone ready to go. I will check in before I leave. Evie

Good morning, and happy birthday to Lilly!

It is raining here today, so I guess the rain from the Midwest has moved out our way. We do need the rain, so that is good.

Linda

Two more question for all you gals, For our Jan trip, Has anyone gone yet to Yak and Yetti for dinner at AK??? How would you rate it?

Also, I am thinking about booking the tea and lunch at GF. What is that called and would my son and DH enjoy. I have seen some pictures and it looks pretty neat. I want to take my MIL to GF on this trip and she loves tea. I would love all your feedback.

Thanks again....:goodvibes

good morning!

V I hope Lily has a great birthday!!! That tea room sounds like fun & at least it's out of the house!!! ugh....having jojo's at home was my worse bday mistake ever.:rotfl:

wow...sorry you guys had storms and that stinks about that tree!! WE had gray adn then sunny skies all day yesterday. I didn't take the jeep out running errands because it looked like rain all day but we got none!!!

ugh...my kids and this cat!!!! OK..so it's a little sweet kitty and they have named it. Jojo named it Oreo...Lucy named it Figaro. I am screwed. They fed it water, milk, tuna....and then at one point last night there were TWO CATS by my front door. Let it be known...I AM SO NOT A CAT PERSON!!!! I always said I HATE cats. This sucks. I don't know what to do. That kitten spent the night outside our door. DH said she was in my big flower pot lying in the flowers when he left this morning.....when Lucy found her later she was on a wicker chair - not the seat the back part, haha....she cries and meows really loud!!!! My dog squeaks when she hears it. I don't even know how to deal with cats. I don't want a cat! They said they would take it around and see if it belongs to somebody today. (send prayers......dh hates cats worse than i do)

it's pretty here today and the pool is finally clear and dh turned the heater on this morn!!! yay!!!!! what a pita.

I forgot to register for that event!!! Maybe I should.:goodvibes You never know...and if dawn and e will be there!!!!:thumbsup2

talk to ya all later!

Chan:)

Hi....omg chan i am so not a cat person either...yuck....good luck with that :scared:

Hey Evie we did schedule a time on...Aug 3 too! I think we are scheduled for the early morning. Lets see if DH backs out though...he is known to do that about things like this cold feet!

Have fun with the tea party gals! Back to work...lots of it here! school starts in 1 month!OMG:scared1:

Happy Bday Lilly!!! Have a great party!!!!!!!!!

Evie- no August 3rd weekend for us- DH had no interest.
We are eating at Yak and Yeti in December for dinner just to give it a try. I know nothing and my expectations are not high! :goodvibes

Hope everyone has a great day!!

Brook is a big fan of Yak and Yeti, read her Feb trip report she has photos too. I haven't been there yet.

Also, I am thinking about booking the tea and lunch at GF. What is that called and would my son and DH enjoy. I have seen some pictures and it looks pretty neat. I want to take my MIL to GF on this trip and she loves tea. I would love all your feedback.

The GF Afternoon tea in the Garden View Tea Room? Is that the tea you're talking about? The Buckingham Palace tea is the "lunch" tea which includes the tea sandwiches. It's very filling. This past June I just got the Sally Lund tea which is two courses since I had lunch already. It's hard to plan since tea begins at 2pm.

There are lots of families there as well as a lot of moms alone just looking for some alone time - I was one of them :goodvibes I went with my sleeping 1 year old and was seated next to another single diner. We chatted the whole time. It was fun and very relaxing.

Oh I did notice a table with two boys about 16 years old having tea. I don't think it's a "ladies who lunch" kinda thing anymore.

Here's the menu:

(The Grand Tea is the same menu as the Buckingham Palace Tea, with a glass of wine included)

i have never had any interest in doing the tea but Mare it sounds nice!:goodvibes I don't do tea or spas....and you are talking me into both!!!:rotfl:

DAWN! I don't know what to do about that cat! The girls are getting attached. I hope it goes away....

 So..that DVC Thingy...you need an appointment/? I though it was a fun party thingy at the comedy club?? So...clarification needed....WHAT exactly is this that I might register for? I wouldn't see you, Dawn or Evie there??? I was thinking it would be a fun get together....so maybe not??? explain please!:rolleyes1

ugh...the sun went bye bye..looks like it might be a "space chimps" day...help me...is that supposed to be crappy or good?:confused3 :rotfl:

You should try it with the girls, I think you'd all enjoy it. The food is really yummy and so is the tea.

They do offer a child's tea:

Mrs. Potts Tea - For the younger "tea lover" in your party, we offer a variety of tea sandwiches, tuna salad, ham and cheese and peanut butter and jelly on white bread. We serve our magical dark tea (chocolate milk) followed with a choice of 2 pastries. Priced per guest. - $10.50

It's really a relaxing experience. I surprisingly enjoyed myself alone this time. I drank my tea, snacked on the Sally Lund bread and read a stack of gossip magazines while DS1 napped for TWO HOURS! :rotfl2: I really didn't want to chat with the lady next to me since she was really a LOUD talker. She was quite a character. Very loud and lively. She was from Nashville and talked to every person around her. I enjoyed her company, I just didn't want her to wake up my son!

I also have to say that it's not a stuffy place at all. Everyone is completely casual and layed back. I had my hair in a ponytail and shorts on. Not dressed for afternoon tea by any means! :rotfl2:

ADRs are a MUST!! The loud lady didn't have one and had to wait until a party didn't show. I was thinking of inviting her to my table, since I was alone, but I didn't want her to sit next to the stroller and wake my son.

I think it's a great GF experience, I really enjoyed it.

Happy bday lilly!

mandy we want pics of you in said hula~~

Have a great day everyone!:flower3:

LOL! I will have them take a pic of me and my girls! It is fun and the kids love that we get into it! Last year the theme was Game Day Central and we wore cute base ball uniforms, so fun!
