One forecast is calling for 60% another 100% for tomorow (Friday). My question is should I bring umbrellas? Should I expect a downpour while we are at Downtown Disney (going to T-Rex for dinner) ?? I have a couple of ponchos...I hate to over pack and have never brought an umbrella before. But we have also never been to DTD. Mandy...what do you think Miss local girl :)

We always bring at least one umbrella. DH doesn't like to wear the ponchos so he sticks with the umbrella. I usually wear the poncho with a baseball hat to keep the rain off my face.

Do you have a rain shield for your stroller? That has been a lifesaver for us the past few trips! We attatch it as soon as we land and just leave it attached to the canapy, folded back the whole time we are there, rain or shine. If the skies look grey before we go into an attraction, we pull the canapy down, lock down the rain shield and go.

We've never taken an umbrella with us......we've found that our Mickey ponchos work just fine :thumbsup2. Did I read that right that you have NEVER been to DTD :confused3???? If that's correct.....then girl, you don't know what you're missing . DTD is one of my fav places......I could shop in The World of Disney for days :rotfl: :rotfl:. And then have ice cream at Ghiradelli's ;) (not sure if it's spelled right ).

Kristin......Yes....I love when others are getting ready to leave on trips :goodvibes. Of course I'D like to be the one going ....but it is also fun wishing others a great time :yay:. Your trip seemed so far away before and now it's only 43 days away......how fun for you :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:!!!! I think Christmas time is my favorite time to be in Disney :santa:. You are going to have the best time :thumbsup2. I haven't calculated how many days I have left :rolleyes1. But I'm slightly under the 9 month mark and it seemed like it stuck on 9 months and so many weeks for the longest time.....so I'm getting there :rotfl: :rotfl:.

Thanks :)

We are flying out of St. Louis so we have to leave our house around 8:30am!Actually everyone is packed except for DH...I need to go finish him now! we'll be in Orlando around 3'ish tomorrow afternoon :dance3:

In case I don't catch you before you leave in the morning.....HAVE A GREAT TRIP :cool1: :cool1: :dance3:   :cheer2: :cheer2: and enjoy the Halloween party :yay: :yay:. Take lots of pics :goodvibes.

Deb :)

Traci ~ I would def have ponchos or umbrellas. Kristin's ideas are great. :thumbsup2

My DH is now saying :sad2: if it looks like rain for Sat...... :headache: Emma has issues and WDW can be overwhelming for her anyway but add rain and she could have a major meltdown. :scared:

I am 45 min from WDW and it has been grey and dreary all day..... I actually did not take the kids to the playground today because I fear getting rained on on the way there or home.

Anyways here is the local weather station I use for WDW...... It is calling 100% rain tomorrow. Hope it helps!
http://www.wftv.com/weather/index.html

By this time tomorrow you will be at WDW for 3 hours already! :woohoo:

Have a great flight and I can't wait to hear/see about your kids reaction to Mickey dropping by in the Barnstormer! :earsboy: :earsgirl:

I am so excited for them (and you) :rotfl:

Here's lots of Pixie Dust :tinker: hoping your trip is MAGICAL! :smickey:

Thanks for the responses :)

Deb (I think it was you that asked) this will be our first time to DTD!! We are really looking forward to it and the T-Rex Restaurant is something my son is really going to enjoy (he's really into dino's right now)!

I'll take a pic tonight after Mickey drops off his goodies!!

:yay:

Mickey comes tonight!!! I have all the goodies ready to set out after they go to bed. I am going to pick up some balloons this evening and tie them to my daughter's Mickey and Minnie dolls as well! This is a huge deal in our house.

This morning my son woke up and the very first thing out of his little mouth was "I wanna go see if Mickey came!!" I followed closely behind so I could quicky distract him since I knew Mickey didn't fly in on the Barnstormer last night....anyway WHAT A TREAT THEY ARE IN FOR TOMORROW!!!

I hope can can sleep tonight - I am sooo excited it will be difficult.

Thanks for sharing in our excitement all !! :goodvibes

:woohoo: What a great idea, your kids will be so excited. I want Mickey to come to my house. Have a great trip. Can't wait to see the goodies Mickey leaves. Thanks for sharing your excitement with us.:goodvibes

Hi everyone, We went to Maine last weekend and it was a crazy busy week at work so I'm just catching up. :woohoo: I got an e-mail from IPO at the BWI and GF for our May trip.:yay: I have to figure out what we want to do in December before I think about May, but it is exciting to be contacted by the IPO. Makes it seem closer.

Vanessa Sorry you had such a bad day yesterday, and that things are better today. Hope you get things straightened out with the coach.

BlueSkies It is 148 days til spring. It has been cold here that past couple of days and I do not like it one bit.

Chan Glad you are finally able to enjoy your trip. Sorry about your camera. You could just buy another card for Lucy's camera. I am sure someone at the camera shop would put it in for you. That is great about the cruise.:goodvibes The GF is the best.:thumbsup2

Channing Thanks for the flyer info...I was never a fan the dining plan either, but DNiece had it on our last trip and it seemed pretty easy, besides with so many people now having free dining.or just the DDP I think the days of spur of the moment dining plans are over:confused3 I much prefer a room discount offer ...:rotfl:

Traci We had quite a bit of rain on our last trip (tropical storm Faye!!) and we bought rain ponchos at Disney ,this was Channings suggestion, she said if they ripped or a snap popped off whatever you could just exchange them...we did and it worked out very nicely...DSs had an umbrella-teenage boys will not be caught in a rain poncho no matter what:scared1: Have a safe trip and a great time:)

Hi Maxie Glad youre back!! How was your weekend in Maine?? Hope you had nice weather...thanks for that spring countdown :thumbsup2 I forgot you had a December trip planned too...Where are you staying?? Lots of December trips:santa:

Deb We dont usually go to DTD either...another thing I guess I'm gonna have to include in the next trip...

Hi to everyone else~hope you're all having a nice evening:flower3:

We had a very nice weekend in Maine. The weather was sunny, but a bit cold. We took a train from Brunswick to Rockland, had lunch and shopped then took the train back to Brunswick. Sunday we went to Freeport to LLBean and shopped all day. There are a lot of stores in the area, many of them outlets. The only thing I bought was a jar of jelly in Harry and David. Just couldn't find anything I wanted.:confused3 We are staying at the Swan and off site at Gaylord Palms in December. The GF or Poly, my 2nd favorite resort, was not available for our dates. We are taking DS's DGF for her first Christmas trip, so we will be spending more time in the parks than we usually do. I keep telling myself the hotel doesn't matter if all we are doing is sleeping there. I don't think it is working.:rotfl2:

Traci......We love DTD :goodvibes. I remember our first trip to Disney we stayed offsite and spent every day ALL DAY in the parks....from opening to closing :faint:....and as soon as we'd be leaving a park, both DSs (8 and 6 at the time) would say they wanted to go to DTD ....so we would go.....which didn't get us back to the hotel until around 12:30-1:00 a.m. :scared1: (which, BTW....they were both crashed as soon as we got in the car to head back to the hotel :cloud9:). And then up the next morning to another park and the late night routine all over again :rotfl: :rotfl:. I think back on that and think to myself that there is NO WAY I'd be able to have those long days again now :scared:. But DSs loved going to DTD because they had a little area where the kids could build with Lego's and have races with their Lego car and there are also huge Lego animals coming out of the water......that is pretty cool ;). But I think it's neat that both DSs always bring that up (going to DTD so late every night).....that's the first thing they mention whenever our first trip comes up in conversation . So if your little ones like Lego's.....I think they'll enjoy some of the things at DTD ::yes::. And the World of Disney store is awesome :thumbsup2.

Maxie......I hope you had a nice weekend trip to Maine :). What is the date of the first day of spring :confused3?? Spring seems so far away, but 148 days doesn't really sound so bad :rolleyes1. After today's FREEZING COLD weather......I could use a little spring thinking to warm up :rotfl: :rotfl:.

BlueSkies.....I would definitely go to DTD if you've never been before ;). Some people may not think it's anything special.....but we enjoy it :goodvibes. Sometimes we walk around going in store after store and sometimes we just grab some Ghiradelli ice cream and sit and people watch .....either way we have a good time :).

Have a good night everyone :cloud9:.

You may see him flying over your house in the Barnstormer!! okay this is kinda silly to post, I know..but this is what my babies are waking up to in the morning. This is why we work so hard every year :) To make evey moment of our trip memorable! Oh, could someone tell me if my photos are posting mega big. I am trying to learn how to scale them down and I *don't* think I have it mastered yet. So forgive me if they are eating your screen.

He left all kinds of goodies. Mickey likes to shop at Target/Walmat/Disney Store/Dollar Store when they clearance the Disney'ish stuff!! He did find a couple of Mickey cameras on Ebay a couple of months ago LOL :rotfl:

$10 costumes I got at the end of summer and a Cars bathing suit :)

Traci, that is so wonderful! :) I hope you get pictures of their little faces when they see their stuff! The pictures are a perfect size. Have a Magical time!:goodvibes :wizard:

Thanks for sharing Traci. I don't think it is silly at all! Have a fabulous, magical trip!

Traci- Have a blast! Your kids are going to be soo excited this morning. Have a safe and fun trip!! We are flying out of St. Louis also. I will have to ask you about long term parking when you get back. It has been years since we have flown out of that airport.

Thanks for the info on the wrapping Channing. :goodvibes I am glad you are having a good time!!

Kristin- I am low carbing it until my vacation also. Any good tips or ideas on food items that are good when you have a sweet tooth???:confused3

I did some retail therapy yesterday. Spent way too much! Went back to my early days and went into Hollister to get some sweatshirts. Boy that store makes me feel OLD!!

Practice went ok last night. The coach went out of his way to talk to me. We leave for the meet today so I am hoping it goes well. Evie is going along also because her daughter competes so we have to make a stop for the High School Musical 3 movie!! The girls are pretty excited. I am excited about a weekend away from home!:thumbsup2 (with no dh...just kiddin;)

Maxie- Glad you had a nice weekend!

Hi to everyone else! Have a great day and weekend.

Have a great trip Traci! :wizard: :wizard:

Take a pic of your little one's faces when they see what Mickey brought them ;). I am so excited for you leaving today   . Have a GREAT time :wizard: :wizard:.

Vanessa......I'm glad the coach talked to you :). I'm sure things will go just fine :flower3:. Have fun at the meet this weekend and good luck to your daughter, as well as Evie's, in the competitions :cheer2:.

Hi to everyone else :wave2: (Kristin, Chan, BlueSkies, Amy, Dawn, Kelly, Mandy, Princess, Maxie, and anyone else I may be forgetting).

Hope everyone has a great Friday :).

Deb :wizard:

Morning all!

My girls are sleeping in....we have the room til noon...then I think we will just hang out here because it's not so pretty out today. Iam not sure if it's raining or not...if it's raining it's a GF and *gasp* Poly shopping day. We stopped off at the CR to shop a few days ago and they want to check out the Polynesian so looks like that's the plan. Otherwise we;ll be reading and just hanging out in the lounge!:rotfl: We are all tired anyway, so it's fine.

We went to MK again yesterday afternoon and the girls had luck pin trading. We did a few rides we hadn't yet done this time around. Jojo got on the big screen in Monsters Inc thing and then she got interviewed....so she made it up there twice.:goodvibes She loved that.

Then we came back here and shopped a bit. The Basin White people gave me grief about taking photos in their store a few nights ago, but yesterday we went down with a CM and they let me.:rotfl: I have tons of pics. And plenty of Basin White.:rotfl2: I am not sure how great they are....because I am a total newb at Lucy's camera but I think they're ok. We are making do.

After shopping, we hung out and just laughed and chatted with V & J and had a relaxing nice time. We ordered private dining and had it delivered to the lounge.

Hmmm....what else? We missed every 1900 PF adr we had.....LOL...we missed another just this morning. I love it here but I do miss home, too....although I am so not ready to get up and go to a soccer game tomorrow morning!!!! It's going to be a shock to mine and Jojo's systems.:headache: OMG...and back to the reality of DH and DS.:sad2: LOL...but I miss my dog and she is so depressed without her girls....so it's time.

Traci,
those pics are soooooo cute. I think if I did that my kids would NOT wnant to leave home....they'd want to stay and play with their new stuff. That is such a cute idea. :goodvibes

I think you are already gone....have a safe trip and no worries about flying....if you do read this....Miguel is picking us up here about 5 pm...I am not sure what time you're getting dropped off. ??? Will we cross paths? I know I will KNOW you by your DD's adorable Disney outfit! Have a WONDERFUL TIME!

Talk to ya all later....anybody hear from Dawn? I am worried about her.:guilty:
