We all need a little Grand picture now and then to get us through an awful Winter day!

The RPC referb is scheduled for July, you will be fine at the end of August. Congrats on booking RPC you will love it. I am also sitting here in MA looking at a foot of snow and freezing...and thinking warm GF thoughts.:goodvibes

Thanks for the feedback! Feeling much better about the trip now. Reading all these posts is giving me happy thoughts about coming back to the GF! Congrats to all those going soon!

On my way......k&a&c'smom and I will share the closet, or I'll take the balcony:scratchin

pas130, I hope you don't mind sharing with tomato, thyme, mint, lemons and snapdragons. They are the inhabitants of the balcony at the moment!

k&a&c'smom, the hall closet is all yours.

We are home! We ended up getting out of MCO on time last night and were (not so warmly) greeted by the frigid temps in NYC upon arrival. I'm missing the GF already and have had Epcot music in my head all day. The magic continues...

I will try to post a full trip report within the next few days, but the temporary report is that it was a great stay with only a few minor blips! It was so nice having that extra unexpected day to do things we hadn't gotten to and just take it easy. :)

Thank you all again for your kind posts and happy trip thoughts!

Tom - you are killing me with the shorts!;) It makes me cold just thinking about it.:scared:

followthatmouse and pas - HAHAHA! Glad we've got that settled, I'll be down directly.;)

BlueSkies - good luck with the packing (or overpacking!)!! I have to give myself a stern lecture each time I pack anything - is this item really necessary?! Sadly, I nearly always answer myself, "maybe..I'll take it just in case"!

I'd be happy to share my closet with you. hehe I agree, those temps are more my style. Sorry the Orlando forecast is leaning away from warm weather, boo.:headache:

Pixel Dust Thanks for posting those beautiful VGF pics...:thumbsup2 BTW..your wedding photos are just beautiful too! :goodvibes

Thanks! We were extremely excited to go through our wedding photos when they came in. The subtle Disney touches photographed well.

Every time I login to my University website (it's in Fla.) I get the temperature down there. Your trip will be Grand  And if you don't wanna pack, there's so many lovely shops...the weather is forever changing, I feel ya, BUT even 40s will feel like Summer compared to this Artic cold!

followthatmouse and pas - HAHAHA! Glad we've got that settled, I'll be down directly.;)
:grouphug: YAY!
Thank you!! Needed that!

She (much like her GF pics) is wonderful :upsidedow

This morning it was too cold for me to take the dog out in my shorts (it was -2), however, I promise no matter what the weather is a WDW, I will be in shorts at least part of every day.

Hello GF lovers, I'm new to the GF but not new to Disney:thumbsup2. We are considering staying at GF RPC this spring. To us, the room location and view are very important. I'm thinking to book a TPV. Will this type of room be on the same floor as the lounge? It's my understanding that the CM's are on the 3rd floor and the lounge on the 4th floor? Is this convenient, inconvenient, or doesn't it matter? I'm just trying to picture in my head if we will have to take an elevator each time we want food or to speak with a CM -- will it become a nuisance after a few days? We are excited to try RPC, it's one of the only CL's we haven't tried yet, and the pictures look beautiful. When the kids were younger, we enjoyed CR CL due to Chef Mickeys and the walking path to MK. Poly CL has quickly become a favorite due to the TPV refurbished rooms. Now we are ready to try GF CL....with your help maybe we'll be staying there this spring! :goodvibes

I posted on the CL thread too, so if any of you post on both threads, you don't need to answer me 2x:).

Hello! I think you will love RPC, most people get hooked after their first try.:teeth:

The TPV rooms are all located over Gasparilla's on the 3rd and 4th floors, so you will either have to go up for the lounge or down for the CMs. These rooms are the furthest down the hallways from the lounge, but it's not a bad walk or anything. There is a small staircase between the 3rd, 4th and 5th floors near the elevator, I'll post a photo.

ETA: I have a better photo of the stairs, but until I find it...you can see the stairs in the background of this photo of the lounge.:flower3:

You're killing me. :faint:

I'm sitting here telling myself--
Resist the urge to switch to RPC. Resist it, Jo. You can do it. You're happy in SL. You are. You love it there. Yes, very very happy.

(I know once we do it, it's all over!):rotfl:

:crazy2:

Hi to Blue !
Pas- You're so sweet!

And hello to everyone else checking in!:wave2:

Okay so here's my question for those who have stayed CL-:coffee:
we love Nespresso coffee. It's what the lounge had a while back, in fact it's the reason we booked CL the first time- bc I read that they had a machine there.:rotfl:
Anyway---- those who have stayed when it was Nespresso and now that it's changed to Joffrey's I believe-- how do they compare?
I admit I do not like the way keurig coffee tastes, can you compare it to that?

Just wondering if anyone has an opinion at all.:scratchin Thanks!!

Thanks everyone for your kind welcomes!! :)

I spent a huge part of my day today going through lots of the posts on this thread and a few others! I am so giddy for our RPC stay!!

I have a couple of room questions for all of you amazing GF Gurus! :worship:

One key piece of information that I picked up on today was the Deluxe vs. standard room. I am thinking of switching. Are there still two different layouts for the Q/Q Deluxe rooms in the main building? It looks like there is a triangle shaped one and a rectangular shaped one (found this on an older string also).

If this is the case, any idea what the room numbers are for the rectangular Deluxe rooms on the 4th floor?

Also, any idea what the view choices are for the Deluxe rooms and does it vary by room shape?

Thank you, thank you, thank you, in advance!! :flower3:

Sorry, I am probably not helping with this aspect! We have stayed in SL 3 times and absolutely loved it! We have been trying to do different things. Our last trip was a really short one and decided to try YC. It was very different. We will be sticking back with the MK resorts until the kids are a bit older.

You will love SL!

Hi :wave2:

Our reservation says "Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa-Outer Bldg - Theme Park View". When we do online check in, will we get to choose which building, or will that already be assigned? If we do, is there any building in particular we should request?

And, also, how long would it take to walk from the outer buildings to the monorail station?

Thank you :)

LOL - sorry.;) You are probably right, once you make the leap you won't go back. But you could be like me - I rotate between garden view, SL and RPC. However the budget works out.:thumbsup2

I can't help regarding the coffee, as I don't drink it.

Thanks everyone for your kind welcomes!! :)

Yes, there are still 2 layouts for the queen deluxe rooms. There are 4 rectangular rooms, 4319-20 and 4419-20, these overlook the courtyard pool and are the closest rooms to the lounge on that hall. At least one of these rooms is an accessible room.

There are 2 triangular queen deluxe rooms, 4322 and 4422, I think. These two rooms overlook the Beach Pool and now, the VGF.
