I will be arriving at DW on a Saturday. My sister won't actually be joining me until Sunday. I have a friend (FL resident AP) who lives two hours away. I was thinking to invite her to spend the night after dinner and drinks so she would not have to drive home. Other than the parking situation would this be doable?

It looks like you need to split your stay into two reservations. One for the first night including yourself and your friend. Another for the remaining nights including yourself and your sister. And you can note that you wish to remain in the same room for both.

I don't want to sound like a teenage sneaking a boyfriend into my parents' house but other than her being able to open the room door why would I need to add her to my room reservation? Is it just a Disney thing? I'm just thinking back to all the times that I would join my husband on his business trips and we would only tell the front desk when I actually got there.

Maybe someone who works in the hotel industry can chime in, but my impression is that every hotel (Disney or not) wants to know who is staying overnight there. If I am mistaken about this, I am sure someone out there will provide a correction.

I didn't want to make it seem like I want to "hide" her but I why would I need to add her in advance of her arrival. After all, our plans are not set in stone. I would just add her at the front desk when she gets there.

Its due to the Adult Fee - if there are over 2 adults staying in a room, you have to pay an additinoal $25 per night I think

Plus, in case of a fire, they need to know who was (or supposed to be) in each room - its a safety thing

and its only right

But so long as the OP adds the person the day they will be spending the night, all of this is covered. They don’t have to re-do their reservations or anything.

I do this a lot, as sometimes my BIL will decide to join my sister and I for a night or two out of an 11 night stay. It has never been a problem to add him day of. Easy peasy at the front desk so long as you don’t exceed room occupancy limits.

Well, you learn something new every day. I had no idea that hotel occupancy of four was based on two adults and two children and that the 3rd and 4th adult pay an extra fee. I had to Google this and found out that it's not just a Disney thing.

Just visit the front desk and add them for the night-they will give the add on a RFID door card also. Have done it several times as long as you wont exceed the room capacity.

I might just do this. Then only thing set in stone is that *I* will be in the room for the entire reservation.

If there are EMH that night that you wanted to take advantage of, she would need to be on the reservation. Other than that, prior to the parking cost, I wouldn't have bothered adding her. Now with them charging for parking, you almost have to add her to have her car parked there.

I had not considered the EMH issue but I definitely don't want her to pay for resort parking.

Well, if the car is there, they will want to bill someone for it. You could offer to pay it since it will show on your folio. I wouldn’t risk getting the car towed. This is all assuming you booked after the cut off in March and are not grandfathered in on the parking.

We haven’t had any issues with EMH so long as we add the person to the room prior to attending EMH. So if you were going to evening EMH, just be sure they are added before you leave the resort.

I'd just add her at the front desk when she arrives, tell them she's only there for the one night. Then you can have the parking fee added for the one night.

No need to do anything in advance.

One of the issues might be parking. They will only allow a couple of hours of parking unless she is on the reservation. She might not be able to park her car overnight otherwise.
