Having a bad day/week- come here

 Me! Me! I am having a crappy week and I want to VENT! My problems are minor compared to some but I am still feeling crappy. I agree with Fiona in that I want to CRAP on my supervisor too!!! :badpc:

I am normally off for the summer - I work in a school district. I recently had my days and salary cut so that for the first time in my working career I will make LESS money this year than I did last year. A week later my supervisor got a raise and a contract extension. :furious:

I was called in yesterday because someone lost some paperwork that I completed in May and the printers weren't working in C.O.

I have to go in tomorrow because all the computers were unhooked at one of the elems when they cleaned the carpets and weren't hooked back up right. Summer school started yesterday. You would have thought that maybe someone would have made sure the computers were working like maybe on Friday - BEFORE summer school started. THEN perhaps I could have fixed them when I was there yesterday! I work 30 miles from home so there's MORE gas money out the window!

I am recording every last second that I work and turning in mileage. I have never done that before when I have had to stop in during the summer but I am going after every penny I can get now!

BUT... on a HAPPY note - 19 days til my anniversary ADULTS ONLY trip to the GRAND FLORIDIAN!!! Just LET them try to get a hold of me during THOSE 6 days!!! :dance3:

Ok, I went to lunch hoping that I would feel better after. Well, I ended up with a headache. I have one of those Angel clips that hooks onto the visor. It was a gift from my mom that says "Daughter Drive Safely". Anyway, the visor was not up all the way, I leaned down to pick something up and the angel's wing stabbed me in the head. :sad2:

My dryer broke today. It looks like the laundry :laundy: will be piling up. I hope DH can fix it. Otherwise I'll be on the bottom of the repair man's list. I don't want to go to MIL's to do laundry.

My son has been sick for almost a week- he is finally getting better today though....

but then I was diagnosed with strep this morning and I'm sore and cranky.

We are having MAJOR neighbor problems. I always have loved my neighborhood, but for the 1st time in 9 years I am contemplating if I want to stay here. We live at the base of a cliff, which happens to be a 'park.' Every summer kids go up there and yell, or throw stuff, but rarely is damage done. Although my two neighbors who live closer to the base of the hill have had a windshield cracked by a rock thrown. 3 weeks ago we had some damage to our new car from these brats (a rock broke a hole in the rear 'fin' and will cost $550 to replace) and my other neighbors had a window broken in their house. The kids set the hill on FIRE. They are throwing homemade EXPLOSIVES off of it. We have been in the paper, on the news and the city planner and cops are coming to have a meeting with us tomorrow to see what can be done.

The topper- I found out one of the teens doing this is my other neighbor's teenage daughter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :furious: :furious: :furious: And they are afraid to punish her, because in their words, "She's 17 and what if she just takes off? We can't control her." I am just beyond angry with them. They would be the first to grab the torch and pitchfork if it was some other neighbor's kid doing this, but they're too wussy to discipline their own daughter.

I am just hoping this meeting tomorrow night will bring some closure to this. One night when they were doing it, my DH went off on a tear and said some choice words to the teens hanging out next door- there seriously hasn't been any damage since then. I think he scared them because they know he used to be a cop and they think he's scary Army Vet Sergeant as he was in Iraq for 18 months. :rotfl: Good, let them be scared!

If she just takes off, then she'll quit destroying your property!

And totally OT:
I love your Tag.
I'm on the mommies to be thread, so I get to covet it regularly.

Hugs to all having rough times :grouphug:

I will join your club --- I was driving on an unfamiliar road last night and apparently was going too fast. Lowe and behold I was pulled over for speeding and I realize that I DON'T HAVE MY LICENSE ON ME!!!!! I just switched wallets and don't know how I missed it but I did (ladies we've all done it right?). So the officier was being nice and was going to let me go BUT, when he asked for my insurance card THAT WASN'T THERE EITHER!!! :guilty: I have no idea how my insurance card found its way out of my glove compartment but it did. So he couldn't let me go on all three counts. So, I now have a ticket for speeding and for being uninsured. In lieu of losing my license for six months, I have to appear in court on 9/11 to prove that I have insurance and to have the speeding ticket dropped to a careless driving ticket (no points). Now, that doesn't seem so bad, I'll pay some fines and move along...BUT I am a teacher and that day is my first day of school!!!! How do I explain that one to my brand new boss "your kindergarten teacher was so dumb that she forgot her license and her insurance card and got pulled over for speeding!!" :confused3 That would be wonderful!

Ahhhhhhh that felt good - It was my fault, I should have been paying attention to the speed limit and I REALLY should have had my information in my car...but I am still very mad about the whole thing...

I've done THAT! The only difference is that I got pulled over for not having the car inspected (DH's job  ). No license, expired insurance card (I just didn't replace the old one when it came in the mail) and failure to inspect.

And I'm an attorney. I really really should have known better. :teeth:

That's what I say! I'm all for turning in the explosive device we found with HER NAME ON THE PILL BoTTLE over to the cops, but the neighbors who actually found it are hesitant, because they think nothing will actually happen. DH knows the cops will at least come interview her, and I think that will scare the you know what out of her. We're going to decide what to do about it after tomorrow's meeting.

Come on over to the new mom's board after you deliver!

I totally agree! Why be defeatist about it and assume nothing will happen? Any semi-normal 17 year old is going to be pretty freaked out about being questioned by the police. I hope your meeting goes well.

And thanks for the invitation - I'm (desperately) looking forward to moving to a thread where I don't have to gain weight in order to belong. :teeth:

My 10mo son broke his leg is a freak accident late sat night. Hubby took him the the ER and they said there was nothing wrong. Sunday morning a women from the Department of youth and family services shows up and said the hospital misread the x-rays and my son had a spiral fracture. He went back to the Er to have a split on while this woman was at my house for 3 hours questioning my other kids and the other people who saw it happen.

He was able to get the cast on yesterday and is already crawling around great.

Okay, I'll whine too! ;)

House is a disaster and mother in law is flying in tomorrow night

Don't want to clean because I don't feel well.... major stomach ache and hoping it's not another ectopic... it's too early to tell.

The dog acted like an idiot at puppy class tonight and made a huge scene. We're lucky they didn't kick us out yet. It's only the second class, so it's still possible.

Returned from puppy class to find we had left the front door unlocked! :scared1:

The bookstore didn't have the book we HAVE to get for mother in law's birthday before she gets here tomorrow. I'll have to drive all over Florida tomorrow until I find it.

Grandmother is very ill and refuses to see a doctor. The rest of the family has decided to let her dig her own grave, so to speak. :sad2:

** Sigh****

Hang in there everyone! Some weeks are really good, right??? Next week will be much, much better! We're halfway through with this one! :)

Holly is it a book that someone like Barnes & Noble would carry? Can you have them check the inventory of other stores within the area so you don't have to drive everywhere?

Hoe you start feeling better REAL soon!

It's a cookbook. I checked Barnes and Noble on my way home tonight and they don't have it. The next closest B&N is in Orlando at the Florida Mall. I'll call them in the morning, but I want to check the smaller stores before driving an hour to Orlando. Thanks though!

I'm having a bad week too!

I've spent the last week trying to get a price adjustment from HOME DEPOT - yeah, pigs fly! I'm now up to the store manager and he's totally ignored my e-mail and letter. I'll give him a couple more days until I send off an e-mail and letter to the district manager.

I found out I may need surgery which may keep me out of work for a month!

Two co-workers have been going around town bad mouthing me just because I hinted at a staff meeting that not all of us (meaning the two co-workers) were pulling our weight. Whatever happened to not airing your dirty laundry?

I've got to take a flying business trip on Thursday at which I will be making a presentation to several dozen angry people.

And it's that time of the month. I can only hope next week will be better.

I'll play - but warning, it is long.

Almost 2 years ago DH loses his job because of office politics. Looks for over year unsuccessfully. In the meantime, we are looking at monthly negative cash flow of over $1000 per month. Decides he wants to go back to school, but is told he needs to do a master's program before he can start the 5 year program he really wants to do. So we are looking at a minimum of 7 years with very limited income from him.

Last November we decide the only way to do this is to sell the house and move into something smaller. We use the equity in our house to pay our debt and have money for his tuition.

Put the house on the market in January, but it doesn't sell until mid-June! $75K less than our original starting. We can still payoff the debt though and live on my salary. Life seems to be getting better.

Right after we sell the house, I find out I'll probably lose my job soon. DH is in NY taking an intensive language course for 10 weeks, (kids are up there also staying with IL's) so I get to pack up the house, handle most of the moving logistics, look for a job and deal with the fact we may have no income very soon - all by myself.

Life really stinks right now. I'm lonely and scared and stressed. Not good. Thanks for listening.

I had a mammogram last Wednesday, on Monday they called and asked me to come back. THANKFULLY they think one is just a lymph node and another is a bengin tumor but my Dh hasn't been there for me emotionally. Grr...I know he is not one to show emotion but he could at least say something or hug me.

My SO situation has not improved, but wanted to give out hugs to all that need it. :grouphug:

That is so very kind of you.

I suspect there is more than a dishwasher issue that is riling your SO up. :guilty:

Good luck. It's awful to not know why someone is treating you poorly.
