Is anyone beginning to have a better week???

Mine has begun to turn around. I'm feeling better, THANK GOODNESS! We had the house sparkling clean by the time DMIL arrived. We never did find the book we were looking for, but found a good substitute. I have forgiven the dog for his behavior at puppy class because he has been an angel since. It's still touch and go with my grandmother.

I hope everyone else is feeling a bit better!

There's no way I can fathom the amount of pain you must feel and I'm so very sorry. I do hope your body heals quickly.

to all - sometimes I need to put my problems in perspective, and reading this thread certainly helped.

My whine is that I am so tired of being BROKE!! I'm going thru a divorce (his idea, along with his GF's, enough said) and I have about $6.67 left over by the end of the week, sometimes less. Our fridge is almost empty, food shopping has to wait until Saturday, I hope I don't run out of gas by Saturday, and there isn't enough left over to do anything! I have 4 kids, two of whom are home from college. They work and pay their bills, but the food bill is enormous!! I hate to constantly be the food police - who ate this, who finished all the cold cuts, etc., etc. I can't even take DS13 & 16 to Pirates this weekend.

Last year I had planned on WDW for us at the end of August, but I had to spend all of my tax refund on a new hot water heater, glasses for DS and just regular living expenses because X was unemployed and sent no support from January thru May. I guess I should be glad he has a job now and that we have a roof over our heads.

Sorry to hear you are going through this. It looks like you need to enlist the kids help with monitoring recreational snacking, and maybe finding some low budget meals. Any chance you could do a garage sale with their help and raise a little extra money?

I'm not having a really bad week, not compared to what others have mentioned, like yourself, but seem to have gotten a case of poison ivy that has not been pleasant, having a busy week at work with unpaid overtime since I'm on salary (at least I have a home office) and DH is leaving Saturday AM with his son and parents for a week long fishing trip. I hate when he's gone even a day or two, much less for a week. Small complaints, I guess.

I went to the dentist today for a simple crown. After the dentist had drilled, and drilled, and drilled, she discovers that I need a root canal, as well as the crown. She then proceeds with the root canal to find the the canal inflammed, and infected. So I left the dentist's office with a partial root canal, a temporary crown, and a prescription for antibiodics. To be continued in three weeks.

I guess if I think I would definitely say this is a bad week (I'm just trying not to think.) At this point everything is a blur. Minutes are running into hours and into days. I just found out I am scheduled for a mastectomy on 7/31. I knew it was coming and expected it to occur sometime the first week of August. But hearing the surgeon say July just knocked me thru a loop. I'm trying to finish things up in work: it's budget time, I'm losing one of my senior staff to another job and I'm scheduled for a procurement audit while I'm out recovering.

I'm trying to think happy thoughts and breathe.....

to all going having bad days/week. It will get better!

May I please join the rant? My DH left today on his lifetime adventure Alaskan fishing trip and I'm already scared to death he'll be eaten by grizzlies while tenting river side at night. He's still airborne, not even to anchorage yet with two more flights ahead of him till he's way out there and I'm already thinking grizzlies..... Its going to be a long ten days w/o him! I WILL NOT watch animal planet or the Discovery Channel while he is gone! I don't know how people with spouses in the armed forces make it through. This[fishing] is much less dangerous on the danger scale, I am sure.

Sometimes its better when things come so fast you don't have time to think about it. Just put one foot in front of the other - you will make it through. Take care of you, everybody else can pick up the slack at work. I'll be thinking of you and praying for your recovery - feel free to pm me, if you want.

The summons states that it will be at least a 6 week trial. I have a huge trip planned and paid for in 6 weeks so the trial would be through my vacation. I am sending in all of my confirmation and cancellation information. I really hope they excuse me, because if they don't I may have to pay a $100 fine and stay in jail for up to 3 days so that I can go on this vacation that I have been planning for a year. The summons states that it will be at least a 6 week trial. I have a huge trip planned and paid for in 6 weeks so the trial would be through my vacation. I am sending in all of my confirmation and cancellation information. I really hope they excuse me, because if they don't I may have to pay a $100 fine and stay in jail for up to 3 days so that I can go on this vacation that I have been planning for a year. Failing that, the two attorneys really quiz possible jurors to find the most suitable people for that particular trial, and there are any number of things you can say that will make them not want you. If it gets down to that point, and you have to go to jury selection, PM me and I will give you a few suggestions of things they don't want to hear!

Thanks!! I have been already practicing some things to say to get out if they do not reschedule me, such as I believe they are guilty until proven innocent, I believe in the death penalty, my grandfather was a police officer, hmmm what else could there be. I may have to pm you when it comes closer to the time!!!
