Have you used Disney Florist?

I was considering using Disney Florist (or possibly another company) to have something delivered to our room as a surprise for my boyfriend.

We'll be arriving Christmas day, so I was thinking of having an ornament, some cookies/snacks and balloons delivered. However, when I looked at DF's website I saw that their delivery fee is $25!! This is quite high and I don't think I'm willing to pay $25 for the delivery.

Is there a cheaper site you might recommend?

I was thinking about getting a stocking pre-made from the internet and then bringing that with me with some little gifts to stuff inside instead of doing the florist thing.

Any ideas??

I have used the disney florist to send a gift to my best friend staying at the Poly. They were great, and she loved the gift, but it did cost a pretty penny. I adjusted one of the standard gifts on their webpage just a little, and there was an extra fee.

I have also used Feralpeg (I think that's her name) here on the disboards, and she was great. We were able to customize a basket with engraved stuff and everything. It cost about the same as the disneyflorist, but had more variety. However, I don't think she does baskets anymore. Sorry.

Good luck in your decision. It might be worth it to just bring the stocking as you were saying.

I sent a basket to my DBF :love2: when we he was down at the parks earlier this month from Disney Florist and it was wonderful. They were very easy to deal with and the size of the basket (I sent him the cooking one) was very reasonably priced. Anyway, if you're staying on property, I think the delivery cost is only like $8 or $9. You might want to give them a call to see exactly how much it would cost. :teeth:

The delivery charge for Celebration and the Lake Buena Vista area is $9.
$25 is the charge if it is going to Orlando, Kissimmee or Windermere

I have used them a few times and always paid about 7.00-8.00 for shipping.
Now one time I called to order something for DH birthday, I was in line at Playhouse Disney, it was before noon and while I was talking to them a little girl fell and really got hurt, she was screaming and bleeding, I told them I would call right back, one thing after another happened and I didn't call back until we got out of the show and she told me delivery was x amount of dollars
now {which meant it went up because now it was later} I don't remember how much it went up but I told her forget it, that was about to place it when the girl got hurt and she said but if it was to be done today now it will cost more, so I said forget it. Call and ask, I think if orders are done early before noon then it is cheaper.
Besides that little problem with getting it delveried, I think they are good, they can help you make anything you need up.

We used Disney Florist for a goody bag for our son's 5th b-day, which we celebrated at WDW. It was waiting in the room as we had requested when we returned to the room on his birthday -- really lovely, included a mylar balloon which we weren't expecting. This reminds me that they used to include a brochure in their confirmation mailing about ordering things to your room from the florist and I haven't seen that again for the past 3 years.... Anyway, we had very good results.

All that said, if you can sneak something into your bag to bring, then YOU have complete control over what it is and when it is "delivered".... Have fun!

I used memories by Sarah. She has been very helpful and costumized a basket for me for DD.

I second that !!! I just ordered my Memories By Sarah gift, she went out of her way to create something that I suggested. And offered ideas that were at my price range. I gave her a price she gave me a few examples. No pressure with her to buy either. I agree, give her an email!

Hi there,

When does Sarah or the DF deliver? Do they leave it at front desk? Put it in your room? How does that work?

Thanks,
Chris :)

I have used DF several times (both sender as well as recipient), always have been good.

They deliver to front desk, and then resort delivers to room.

Thanks, Dan.

Do we need to be there to receive? Or will resort put it in the room for us?

Trying to find some ways to surprise my parents. ;)

I ordered a gift basket for DS from Disney florist this past March. They let me do a little customizing( I wanted a disposable camera and different snack items than what was listed) with out any additional charge. I think its based on the total value of the basket as opposed to individual items. Anyway I asked that the basket be waiting in our room at the GF when we arrived and yup there it was! I don't know how the front desk would of handled it if we didn't like our room location at checkin :confused3 But since we were given a surprize upgrade from garden view to lagoon view there was no changing our minds

When I have used them they have always been in the room for us when we got back. THey are normally not there when we check in because they dont know the room number ahead of time but they will deliver shortly after or put in room if you are gone! I love using the disney florist!

I used DF and they did a fantastic job. They spent a lot of time talking to me and I even had a couple of items shipped to them. I was extremely pleased at the result and it's something my son still remembers.
