With the holiday weekend coming up, I expect we will be going to the cinema. Can anyone recommend a good film to see?

Depends what type of things you like Kaylee.

I went to maid in manhatten a couple of weeks ago and thought that was good!

The last film we saw was Chicago and I recommend it but don't know if it has finished "doing the rounds" yet.

My older son went to see Johnny English - he is a real fan of Rowan Atkinson and Bean - but he came home disappointed saying it really wasn't funny, a naff film. ( Much to the concern of younger son who is going to see it today .. he's been invited as part of a friend's party outing so he gets no say in which film they see!)

I also went to see Maid in Manhatten and thought it was really good another good one is Two Weeks Notice with Sandra Bullock and the divine Hugh Grant.

FYI Hellie, there's an article on Hugh Grant in this month's Vanity Fair.

I'm in the States, so that's the American version. :p PM if you can't get it.

I haven't seen Maid in Manhatten or Two Weeks Notice yet, I quite fancy these two :D

I recently saw "Formula 51" (Whcich was released as "51st State" in the UK). It starred Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Carlyle.

It is out on video and DVD. Look for it.

Oh come on Bill, fess up. You went to see that movie to be validated. ;) Did you wear your kilt? :p

No ma'am, I don't need Samuel L. Jackson to be validated... I look better in a kilt than he does, anyway.

As for wearing a kilt... of course I did. I can rarely be found NOT wearing one when I'm not on duty.

LOL!;)

I recently saw Adaptation with Nicholas Cage, might not be eveyones 'cup of tea' but I loved it:D

Saw Johhny English this week and fell asleep.I thought Shangai Nights was good fun .They are more for kids though.
Am going to a preview of Phone Booth I think it's called tonight ,I got free tickets with The Standard.

Phone Booth - with Colin Farrell!!!

Look's great.
You will like this if you are into adventure movies, as opposed to 'Chick Flicks' like Maid in Manhatten.
Although i like both:p

Carene,

I saw Phone Booth last night,I thought it was OK:rolleyes: I thought he acted ......OKish!

It was more the type of film I'd be happier to have got out on video and watched at home. When i go to the cinema i like to see a film that makes it worth the effort of going out! (Well it is an effort for me;) )

From what I read in magazines/newspapers we are all going to be sick of the sound of Colin Farrell's name soon:eek: :(

I know what you mean:rolleyes:

I'm probably going to look stupid  but who is Colin Farrell?

He is 'the' actor of the moment Shirley but he started out in Ballykissangel. I havent seen anything he has been in as far as I know, but he has been a big hit over in the USA :)
