Have YOU rode the Simpsons?

JohnnySharp2,

Sorry for an off topic question, but I noticed the picture with Barney and BJ. How did you get that picture? We have been to US several times and never seen the Barney characters out. We have done the picture with Barney after the show, but that's it. My daughters would just LOVE to have a picture outside with the Barney characters. Just curious if I was missing an opportunity to meet the characters outside of the show. Thanks!

I was fortunate enough to have the chance to ride the new attraction Thursday night, just wondering if anyone else has been there yet, or plan on going to check it out. Let me say I really like this one, definately top 5 on my list. And yes, been a long time of the Simpsons! WHOOOO HOOOO! :thumbsup2

only in my mind:goodvibes , has segued into the top spot of my Orlando fantasties:laughing:

You have to be 40 inches to ride . They will have a child swap area if you want to ride and your GS can't .

We went yesterday, ride broke down during the wait though, and wait times were near 50 mins. Good ride, though.

Went on it yesterday :cool1: loved it had a 50 minute wait time but one of the cars broke down so ended up just over an hour for us :sad2: but glad I done it......

For those who have been on it, what's it like? Is it scary at all? Do you think 5 year olds would like it? Thanks!

I didn't think it was scary...but then I don't usually think anything is scary. :teeth:

I think a five year old would really enjoy it...it helps if they like The Simpsons but it isn't necessary...the humor is a little more mature than a usual cartoon. :rolleyes1

I think he would like it. I thought it was a pretty good ride. I am taking my nephew this Sat who is 6 so I will get back to you with his reaction. If he can take it any 5 year old can imo. He cryed for his mommy on Shrek for some reason.

I would really appreciate you posting here when you get back :):):)

My 12 year old doesn't want to ride Shrek either, he's kind of a "chicken" :rotfl: , so is my 5 year old, but not as much as his older brother. My other 5 year old daughter is a thrill junkie so I'm not worried about her.

Please let me know, thanks!!!! And have fun :cool1:

I am not sure what made him scream but I know the horse part got him and started screaming then. I had never ridden it so I had no idea what to expect to prepare him for it. I figured Shrek was aimed for kids so it would be ok. Never thought of him going as crazy as he did. I dont want him to be a ride chicken as I love all the rides esp the thrill ones. Shrek ruined 3D shows in general for him also he would not go on T2 all I tryed and when we did Muppets he would not wear them. Our last trip we convinced him to do T2 and he liked it but wouldnt wear the glasses. I have done everything I can not to scare him talking about the rides and to keep him calm and he seems braver now then he was but then again once we are there it may be a completely different story. I will report back with you about Simpsons though I cant imagine what someone would rly consider "scary" about it but you never know.

That's what happened to my 12 yo. He rode Splash Mtn. when he was 4 1/2 and that scared him so much he doesn't like coasters, except for BTMRR, which he just tried a couple of years ago.

He does not like 3D or 4D, except he will keep his glasses on for the most part on Mickey's Philharmagic. What ruined it for him was at DL, also when he was 4 1/2 , honey I shrunk the audience.

I am going to attempt to get him to ride the Mummy. His height is rly close I measured him at a random pool we were at the otherday and with shoes he hit it. So if he is big enough it would be a good first big coaster. We are going to WDW in Aug and I was thinking of Everest being first but this would be better there are no drops its not too fast its just themeing is scarier. But he cant see the themeing before he gets on like he can a big mountain that seems intimidating. I will do everything I can to prepare him for that so he isnt too scared I think he did watch youtube of it and he has seen everest so he thinks its np. But being there is a diff story. If he likes that I will try to get him on RNR since I believe that is probably the best upside down coaster for anyone for a first time. I used to be scared of them it took a bribe from my mom which she never payed up to go on one at Busch but if she tricked me and put me on RNR it prob would of been better. After I went on one though I was hooked I am hoping its the same with him.

I have the same problem with my DS 12 when he was 9 we went to epcot and did honey I shrunk the audiance and the 3D scared him and then we went to universal and rode spiderman and thought he would love it cause spiderman is his favorite superhero and after that he will not do any 3D and can't even get him to do rotm but did get my oldest DS hooked on rotm last year and thats all he talks about wanting to ride it this year.

Yea I told him he needs to wear them on Spiderman otherwise its just gonna be a red blob and not be fun and he was just silent. It will probably be our first ride since I am doing IOA on Friday. So we will see if he is willing to put them on or not.

Maybe if he sees everyone else wearing them...he'll put them on. :confused3
