on Mousesavers web site it says the following 'A little bird tells me a special discounted Walt Disney World vacation package for late October through Christmas is coming very soon -- keep checking back!'

Oh boy, Oh boy, please let it be free dinning !! !! :cheer2: :cheer2:

The 1st thread was started 1st thing this morning, (have been checking back all day..so far nothing). If you look at the other threads, the general consensus is that it is not going to be free dining :guilty:

Gotta keep watching... :wave2:

I saw that too!!!!!!!!!!!!

My fingers are crossed and I have faith if it applies to me at all, my TA will apply it to my ressie as soon as she can and I'll just get an email saying it's done.

I have a question. I booked through CAA who in turn had to book through AAA. Would they automatically apply any further discount? And if I have to call do I call CAA, AAA or Disney?

If the free dining would come up, you have to call your CAA TA and tell her/him that you saw the dining plan special and they will get it for you BUT you will not get the discount (20% I think) on your room. So basically, its the dining plan or the CAA discount, not both! ;)

Be sure to count whats better for you!!!! :flower:

I'm hoping that it's a room discount if anything but if the word "package" is being used I doubt it.
We are going all out this year and paying rack rate for AKL. Unfortunately, we had purchased our park hoppers before tickets were changed to Magic Your Way and so aren't looking for any sort of package deals.

ok... how would that work ... I'm already booked into WL for December with the Dinning plan ... so would my TA have to cancel my booking and rebook so I could get the free dinning??... However there are no Rooms available, so does that mean I can't get the free dinning plan. :confused3

This is what happend to us. We had ours booked for Aug 28-Sept 3. We paid our down payment. Then the free dining came out. I called my TA she said that you can only have 1 discount on a booking. that it would probably cost us $360 to get in on the dining. We said ok She booked it and when I asked her how much more it was going to cost--$240. That covered 5 adults(our 3 boys are over 10) for 6 days. I don't know where the $240 came from because that would have been only about 10%???

At the end of our vaccation Disney gave us our dining "bill"--$1688.00 It was the best experience we could have had.

Nope - not to my knowledge. Last time I was already booked and the Canadian at Par deal came out, my reservation was "converted", so not cancelled and re-booked. I think I had read here as well that when free dining came out, many people's reservations was converted as well, not cancelled and re-booked.

I don't think it's goning to be free dining this time. I'm reading lots of pages that it'll be something discounted.

Just my opinion:

I wish, but I highly doubt it. We have two check in dates:
1. Dec 31 (rack rate, holiday rate)
2. Jan 1 for 7 nights (CAA rate, value rate)

I assume this new special will run for checkins late Oct until check ins Dec 25 (last year the fall special ran until check ins Dec 25) BUT
last year in late OCT a new special came out (room only discounts) that was for checkins dates Jan 2 until mid April.

So if something similar happens this year and looks good for us, we will check in AGAIN when/if a January special is introduced, hopefully no later then a Jan 2 check-in. Then again new this year, a lot of schools don't start back until Jan 9, so if there is a January special it may not start until after Jan 9.

Anybody else have thoughts on possible specials for early Jan?

I don't know what package will be offerred, but don't ignore it because you already have your park hopper tickets. If the deal is good enough, you may find it worth adding 1 day of park tickets to get the deal. That's what we are doing next week - added 1 day to get 7 days of free dining.

calgarygary (or anybody else):
regarding the one day MYW base tickets you had to purchase in order to get the free dining deal:

Will you have to use the 1 day tickets during this upcoming vacation or can they be saved for a furture vacation?
Thank you
Suzy V.

I'm interested in finding this out too ... DH and I are flying down for a 3-night weekend in early Dec and we have AP's and a AAA discount on our room at ASMu. IF the new deal happens to be free dining, the "Free" part will cost us the difference in room price, plus the one-day MYW base ticket ... if I can save those tickets and apply them to the next time we purchase park tickets, then it would definitely be worth our while. If we can't, then probably not worth it since we're just going for 3 days.

I have heard of people doing just that on the Budget Board, so I did a search for you. I came up with this thread and found this reply:

I purchased the 1 day ticket with the free dining pkg. I already have AP's. I was told these tickets expire with first use as they are one day. I will save them for the next time I go and have one family member use them this will give them 2 days of passes

So.....yep, save your MYW tickets to use on another trip.

Ok here is the info I got from my TA:

Yes, I know about it, and have for about a week now. What I was told most likely won't be exactly what happens, since it changes all the time. I will expect something Monday or Tuesday morning, and it will most likely be an extension of the free dining deal. I will just get it applied to your reservation, and let you know how it changes your package.

I called in my dining reservations today (for my december trip) just in case it
is free dining because things will really book up fast if that is the deal!

So, when you book a package you don't have to buy park tickets for the entire length of your stay? We're going next year and have days left on our park hopper tickets so never considered a package because we already had tickets.

Looks like no news yet on this potential "deal". Here's a link to Mousesavers site for the most updated info:

Still keeping my fingers crossed that it's something useful for my quick Dec trip. :wizard: Pixie Dust for all !

:wave2: Hi everyone,
I just got this email from my TA...
I just got a fax update about your package, in addition to the 2006 Magic your Way Package ordinary perks, you are also getting:
1.) Planet Hollywood Meal Voucher ($$$ amount not specified)
2.) Planet Hollywood merchandise voucher ($$$ amount not specified)
3.) Disney's Photopas certificate
With no change to your package price.

There is also a rumored new 'special discount package' at Walt Disney World for travel dates of late October thru Christmas. If you qualify for this package (date extend into January), I will do my best to make sure you get it.

If you just want room only, have you asked about CAA discounts? It would definitely save you money over rack rate if there's a room available, even if you count the cost of joining CAA.
