Have you had or do you have braces on your teeth? I am about to hit 15 months of metalmouth (and yes, I am in my late 20's) so I just wanted to see what other DIS-ers had them!

yep from 7th to early 9th grade.

From 8-18. Yup. 10 years. Permanent retainer on the bottom from 18-22. Got tired of that, got a removable one, quit wearing it. I'm almost done with a fix by way of retainer and will have a removable one I have to wear at night. I'll need jaw surgery and upper braces again one of these days.

That's what happens when you don't wear retainers.

I have them on now, it will be a year in Sept (I'm 24) and this is my 2nd round with them. I got them on originally in the 7th grade and finally got them off when I was a sophomore in COLLEGE!!! (I had gotten the tops off earlier, but the bottoms were on until then)

My teeth are amazing now, and I hope to get them off within 2 months.

I had mine put on a week after I started my freshman year in college and they were taken off a month before I started my senior year. Although it wasn't the best time to have them on, I'm glad I did it then!

I am a brace face right now too!!! I've had them on since late Feb. and will have them off by June!!!
I hate them. (I mean... I really, really hate them!!!)

I never needed braces, and DD12 is blessed with my dental genes.
DS14 has a missing adult tooth (it was never there) so he wears a retainer to save the spot. After he stops growing he'll get an artificial tooth.
DD5 sucks her thumb, and will definitely need braces at some point.

I'm in my early 20s and have them now. I had them before in my early teens but for some reason my teeth just didn't want to stay as they were, so I'm giving it another try!

I had braces during high school for three years. I got them off during my senior year. I am so grateful I had braces-they made my teeth 'perfect'. I don't remember hating wearing braces-just hated getting them tightened. You will love the end result.
