Have you gotten a COVID vaccine?

Oh man, I really wish I hadn’t seen this the day of my appointment. I’m going to keep reminding myself we have 150 pages of people reporting they are just fine, I have several friends that are just fine, DD’s friends are just fine and both DD and my mother people I’m genetically related to are just fine.

Speaking of DD she never had more than that hangover feeling and a sore arm the next day. Went to work yesterday (a very physically demanding job) and had no issues. The best news? She bought a ticket home for May 17th! party:

I was nervous too before both of mine. The nurse watching us during the wait time told us that no one has had a reaction to the vaccine at the place I went too. They have had some people with anxiety that they had to take care of but not a reaction. You will do fine. Just keep reminding yourself of what you stated with everyone you know was fine.

Spouse and DD 1st 24 hour side effects of Pfizer shot 1...
Spouse said his arm was "tingly" - I think it hurt, too, b/c he wouldn't let me touch it.
DD had no side effects.

We'll see if both make it to 48 hours the same way:)...

PS - They also drank a ton of water...
I’m just about 24 hours post my 1st Pfizer and I have a sore arm that started last night. Feels very much like the flu shot. Otherwise, I feel fine.

Just got my 2nd Moderna so I feel I am finally official ☺️

Have been following this thread to see what side effects folks have been dealing with... the nurse said there might be “flu-like” symptoms with the second shot but rest and Tylenol should help. I’m glad I had a Friday appointment since it gives me the weekend to recover!

got my second dose yesterday (3/24). Been about 17 hours since. So far nothing but a very sore arm. I had no side effects with the first one except for the "moderna arm" a few days after. I had been drinking plenty of water before I went and have been drinking water or Gatorade after.

quoted my self to give an update. About 20 hours after the second dose I started getting just super tired with a slight headache. Left work, took a Tylenol, slept 4-5 hours. Woke up feeling much better then slept some more and woke up at like 9 pm feeling back to normal. I will say it was not your normal "tired". I can normally work through the day or drink some coffee but this was different.

Not sure if I was tired due to the vaccine or just because was not able to sleep at all the night I got the vaccine. But at least I got some rest since I normally don't. That was a plus.

Several of us at work got the vaccine the same day at the same place. It was with one of the school sin our area. My boss had no side effects at all, another coworker was fine and able to work yesterday but got a fever for like 7 hours later yesterday and then myself and another coworker spent at least 24 hours with a fever, chills and body aches. We are all about the same age. 40-45 except the coworker that had the fever for 7 hours. she is in her 20's. I am so Jealous of my boss. He had no side effects with either shot. Not even a sore arm.

So it really is a shot in the dark as to how someone will react. I'm getting my 2nd dose of Pfizer on 4/5, hoping for just the sore arm again.

Gov. Laura Kelly announced Friday that starting Monday, March 29, Kansas will make the COVID-19 vaccine available to all residents 16 and older as it enters Phase 5 of its Vaccine Prioritization Plan.

“With the anticipated increase in supply from the federal government, we must get every dose of vaccine into arms quickly,” Kelly said. “I strongly encourage every Kansan to get the COVID-19 vaccine so we can get back to school, back to work, and back to normal.”

There have been hiccups with a large shortage of anticipated J&J for next week and beyond but it appears she feels confident to not rely on J&J for supply.

Dh and I got our 2nd Pfizer vaccine today. Yay!

Went out on a lunch date and a Target trip for baby gifts for a outdoor baby shower tomorrow. Hoping we feel ok to go.

My brothers and sister inlaws got shot #2 this week and all had flu symptoms for 24 to 48 hours. Some had moderna, some had Pfizer.

My mom had no symptoms after her 2 shots. Hope we are lucky like her!

Oh, and our hospital, who administered the vaccines, gave out plastic id badge style pouches (without a lanyard) to protect our vaccine cards- no lamination needed.

Just got back, all went well. I got Pfizer. Not a lot of people, maybe five? I think they must schedule in blocks. Three were sitting there filling out paperwork when I arrived. I brought mine filled out per the instructions in the email so ended up being first. Glad to have the first one done.

Office Depot and Office Max are now offering free lamination of your COVID vaccination card. The offer is valid thru July 25, 2021.

Coupon for free lamination of vaccination card
Just be aware that lamination could damage the information on the card, if they used heat-generated stickers with the information.

The suggestion I've read was, take a picture of the card, put it away, and laminate the picture to carry around. That way the empty spots on the card can be used for any boosters that may be required.

I got my 1st shot (Pfizer) this past Tuesday. About 24 hours after the shot, I was achy and had a fever. These symptoms lasted two days and I felt just like I did when I had Covid-19 a couple of months ago. I also had a sore arm with the pain migrating to my armpit, where it became very painful due to swollen lymph nodes.

Hopefully, I will not have the same reaction to my second vaccine.

Yep....I didn't laminate my original. I have a picture on my phone, made a copy of the original and laminated that. Put it in my car. Put the original away (with passport)
