And I can't fathom how areas like yours are doing so badly with distribution. Here in New Orleans, we're opening up to everyone 16+ on Monday. They're doing a HUGE Vaccine Fest next week, vaccinating 6500 people in 24 hours. That's just one site out of something like 654 across the state. I hope your elected officials get it together soon.I just don’t understand how so many states are opening up the vaccine to more people when my Pennsylvania county and the few around it can’t meet the demand for 1a.
I know that CA enlisted Blue Shield to handle all vaccination efforts statewide. Since they’re a huge health insurance company, they had all the connections with doctor’s offices and clinics. I think once they took over, it sped up the process and was much more efficient than each county trying to do it themselves.I just don’t understand how so many states are opening up the vaccine to more people when my Pennsylvania county and the few around it can’t meet the demand for 1a.
Got my first dose of Pfizer at 2:20 precisely and was out and on my way by a quarter-to-three. The only side effect is that my arm is getting progressively more sore as the evening wears on. Other than that, I feel just fine. I even got a little sticker to wear, just like when I was a kid and got a shot.
Second dose, April 15th.
My wife and I got our first dose of the Pfizer vaccine yesterday morning. Other than a sore arm, we haven't had any other side effects.
It was a little scary, though, as a woman in the observation area after receiving the shot had a severe allergic reaction. She was really dizzy, and a nurse was having to hold her upright in the chair so she wouldn't fall out. She got to where she basically couldn't talk to the nurses, so they had to call the paramedics out. The paramedics arrived just as we were leaving. Hopefully the woman is OK.
Oh man, I really wish I hadn’t seen this the day of my appointment. I’m going to keep reminding myself we have 150 pages of people reporting they are just fine, I have several friends that are just fine, DD’s friends are just fine and both DD and my mother people I’m genetically related to are just fine.My wife and I got our first dose of the Pfizer vaccine yesterday morning.
