today I learned that 3 more neighbors in our community are currently hospitalized with Covid. Two are on ventilators. We re hearing that one of them likely won’t make it. It’s heartbreaking.
Please, mitigate your chances of getting COVID... you Know what to do. you may think you re Strong and Impervious... but ur not.
stay Safe All, this Isn’t Over Yet! 🙏🏻

Hubs got Pfizer #1 Monday. No side effects other than sore arm -& I am trying not to be mad at him for no side effects LOL-but glad it's going well.
After his second shot in 3 weeks-all sets of in-laws and parents, plus his oldest DD and his sister will all be fully vaccinated. Rest of family are low risk/younger - We are getting there. On a positive side anecdotal note-covid has all but disappeared from all the LTC facilities I go to-vaccinating the most vulnerable first is helping with decreasing transmission/cases.

I am so sorry! hoping they all pull through.

DH got his first dose of Pfizer today. He was like a kid on Christmas.:lovestruc

I qualify now (ended up not getting into the Novavaxx study a few months ago) and I am FREAKING out.

Can anyone calm me down? I have been having LITERAL panic attacks since Friday when I found out. Like, not sleeping, having trouble breathing due to them.

I am T2 diabetic, controlled by diet and Metformin (last A1C was 5.1 or so). I am a recovering alcoholic that has done some damage to my liver and kidneys.

My dr wants me to get the shot. I have never had reactions to shots (or anything except tomato plants!). I just keep freaking out about contraindication between Metformin and the shot.

Anyone on here on Met and have had Pfizer and can give me some deets?

Or, chill me out. I am SO laid back, typically, and I have NO idea why this is causing me so much anguish the last few days! This is totally unlike me, so not sure what the deal is...

Johnson and Johnson, not Pfizer but, controlled type 2 on Metformin and Jardiance, plus BP med and statin. Allergic to shellfish and Sulfa and food sensitivities. So, I don't like to take any shots and the needle scares me. I was a mess but once I got scheduled I knew I had to do it. Everything went fine and I had a sense of calm and gratitude afterwards. No side effects and the tech was excellent - didn't even feel the needle. Hope it goes as well for you.

I got my 2nd dose of Maderna today at about 3:30. I am 7 hours out and I have a sore arm. So far not as bad as last time. I have also had a slight headache. Nothing bad. Just annoying. I am also tired but can't sleep. So far nothing bad. I hop it stays this way.

I have been nervous/anxious all day. So much so that I couldn't eat much today and also had some stomach issues. Even though I tried to hide it the nurse who was giving me the shot picked up on it pretty quickly and asked it I was ok. We talked for a minute but I knew I was fine and just needed to get it over with and as soon as I got home I would be fine. There were 3 nurses at the station I was at. The one that gave me the shot was awesome. She looked young enough to be a student. She was awesome. I didn't feel the needle or the medicine going in. In the waiting area I was with a few people I work with. This was awesome because it keeps my mind off of the anxiety. Also chewing gum helps me. While waiting we were talking to the person that was watching us. She saw me rubbing my arm and said not to do that with any vaccine. Moving your arm is fine and something you should do to help with the pain but don't rub it. She said that rubbing it can cause more of an injection site reaction like a rash.

Got second Pfizer shot 12 hours ago (7 pm). Couldn't sleep last night. Was up until 2 am. I'm not a great sleeping , but I tend to fall asleep and then wake hours later, not the other way around. Arm is a little sore, but no other issues. Not sure if sleeplessness is a side effect.

To report back on my 18 year old with the J&J. He was super tired and his arm hurt like the flu shot (that I make him get every year). He did attend football practice both days but yesterday was non contact. I have not talked to him yet this morning since I am in school and he is home today (hybrid). For as much as he complained about getting the shot he keeps asking me when he is considered fully vaccinated and if he would not have to quarantine if exposed. This was my selling point to him that he could go out with his buddies if he was vaccinated. His senior year has not been much fun and I hope with the weather getting better he can hang with a small group of friends some weekends.

got my second dose yesterday (3/24). Been about 17 hours since. So far nothing but a very sore arm. I had no side effects with the first one except for the "moderna arm" a few days after. I had been drinking plenty of water before I went and have been drinking water or Gatorade after.

FL is opening up 40+ on 3/29, and 18+ on 4/5.

I have my first appointment (at a Walmart) on 3/31. I grabbed the first one I could find, lol, ahead of schedule. I have to drive about 30 minutes, but it will be fine; DH had to go over an hour to Mayo to get his.

As soon as they open up for 16+, I'll get DS17 in.

SoIL#2 is done; DD#2 has her first scheduled for next week (military overseas). DD#1 was told to wait by her OB, as she has been sick lately (typical stuff for her every year, ear infections, lung issues); SoIL#1 has not qualified in their state yet. Obv the grandbabies haven't been, as they are only 4.

I was supposed to get my first shot on April 11th, but an appointment opened up for today at 2:20 p.m. and I am thankful that it was offered to me. I have to go on a bit of a road trip right after with my cousin (who's driving me to this appt.) to pick someone up from Atlantic City, but I'll report back just as soon as I can.

My dad had massive sleeplessness after his second Pfizer. Otherwise perfectly fine, not even a sore arm. Hoping I'm the same when I get my second dose April 10! My first dose side effects were pretty mild, so we'll see.

Pfizer here, one shot down. A bunch of spaces opened at the San Francisco Moscone center for everyone who qualified in the vicinity. I showed up an hour early, they let me in. There was absolutely no line - it took longer to park.

DH got Moderna via drive thru. Beyond serious sleepyness, no issues for either of us.

Supposedly, it is (sleeplessness)- Im a night owl--- my day normally STARTS at midnight !! Thats when both kids are sleeping, and I get to do my thing (TV, news, online shop, etc) --- That being said, I CAN fall asleep if I want to --- the first few days after my J & J vax, I noticed restlessness at night--- And heard its a bit worse with Pfizer and Moderna --- but it does subside.
