I hear ya. My sisters and their husbands, all snowbirds who own 2nd homes in Florida have gotten their first shots down there. Friend in Texas has gotten his. Here in SW PA, there are no clinics set up, they are still doing health care workers and nursing home residents (we have a LOT of old people here). DH is over 65 and I would like him to get his vaccine, but it looks like it will be months.
Good luck, I hope you are able to get your husband scheduled soon. My mom is 88 years old with diabetes, high blood pressure, pulmonary fibrosis & early dementia. She is in her own home thanks to my siblings care & determination. We have spent the last 10 months sheltering her in place & praying that none of us who are still working with patients would bring anything to her. I was able to use my Disney website stalking training just like @kimmylaj did to get an appointment for her. She got her first vaccine last week. Plus 3 aunts & uncles in their late 70’s & 80’s also have gotten their first doses. Another one is scheduled in 2 weeks.
My family has been very fortunate. I am an RN & got vaccinated thru work, as have 3 siblings who are also in health care. Another sister is a child care provider & also had her 1st shot. The day after my mom got her shot, I was back stalking the various websites & was able to get an appointment for my 65 yo DH. He got his 1st vaccine yesterday. I am very thankful for the number of family members who are getting their vaccines so quickly. But getting it shouldn’t be like hitting the jackpot. Especially for the very elderly who may not have someone who can stalk multiple websites to get them an appointment.
My kids are in their 30s. The way things are going in NY, it will be fall or next winter before they can get appointments.
