Have you gotten a COVID vaccine?

I have had a few headaches and a short aural episode in the days and week following Pfizer dose #1.

This is good to know. I am 12 days post Pfizer shot 1 and had a terrible headache last night and it’s lingering today. I actually went and got a rapid Covid test today (DS10 was getting ready for a hockey tourney so I wanted to be sure he wasn’t exposing his team)...it was negative. I should probably do the VSafe too since I had bad nausea after it, too.

It could also be that impending snowstorm! Lol

Checking in about 22 hours after my second dose of Moderna. Arm is a bit sore, but not as bad as with the first dose and nowhere near what I remember from my most recent flu shot. I did focus on moving it around a lot yesterday, so maybe that helped. I have a mild headache, mild body aches (lower back and neck - feels like a little bit of throbbing in my lymph nodes) and mild fatigue. I had a little trouble sleeping last night, but I think that was more from being nervous about possible side effects and not from the side effects themselves? No chills or fever at this point.

I feel like the mild body aches and headache are my main issues right now and they are getting a tiny bit worse as the morning is going on so I’ll be popping some Tylenol here in a bit. I’d still classify everything as mild at this point (and I swear I did not try to make this post into a drinking game by using the word “mild” over and over again 😁).

Also, the CDC was on it with texting me about V-safe...I got a message from them asking about my second vaccine when I was driving home from having just gotten it.
My last update (hopefully)...the body aches and fatigue were a little more bothersome from about noon-5PM yesterday after getting the second Moderna dose on Friday at about 2PM. I thought some light exercise would help - moving and getting the blood flowing seemed like a good idea - but looking back, I think I should have just taken Tylenol and had a nap. I ended up taking Tylenol around 4PM and passed out for a few minutes around 5PM, and that’s when the body aches subsided.

Today I feel tired, but I think that’s mostly because my dog snored for hours last night and kept me up :headache: body aches and headache seem to be gone, arm pain from the injection is almost totally gone. I think if I’d had a decent night of sleep I’d be feeling close to 100% today. 👍

EDIT: noticed that my shoulder where I got the injection is a little swollen, so that’s different.

I got my 2nd moderna shot on Friday at 2:30. Friday evening my arm hurt alot more than the first one did. I used an ice pack for the pain. I woke up on Saturday feeling OK but in the afternoon started feeling worse. My temperature was 101, I felt achy, and had a sinus headache. I woke up this morning feeling normal. Most of co workers who also got their 2nd shot on Friday had a similar experience.

I got my second dose of Pfizer Friday at 3:00pm. Yesterday (Saturday), I reported just a sore arm. Last night my arm started burning more, my back ached (particularly upped back on the same side as the injection), and I had chills but no fever, though my temp was slightly elevated compared to my normal. This morning (Sunday) the arm is just slightly sore. I have a sinus headache, but that’s also par for the course in this kind of weather, so it may be unrelated. I’m tired but not exhausted and, again, that could be normal winter Sunday malaise.

I have an appointment for Shot #2 (Pfizer) on Tuesday at 11:15 a.m. We have a Winter Weather Advisory in effect until Tuesday at Noon. They are predicting 6 to 10 inches of snow! Ugh! I am freaking out. I have to get there, but what if I can’t?

Best of luck with it. Fingers crossed you can get there or they reschedule.

From reading this thread it sounds like insomnia is more common than with other vaccines. Surprising. I had it for one night. It’s easy to write any symptom off on other causes but I haven’t had insomnia in a while, so I’m blaming the shot.
That was a weird thing my dad noticed after his first Pfizer shot. He gets insomnia pretty regularly, but normally he doesn't feel sleepy during it. That day he said he was really sleepy but he couldn't fall asleep either for a nap or at bedtime that night.

Just got the go ahead for my first Pfizer shot. My appt is on a Thursday. From what I am reading, my second shot would be 21 days from the first. That second shot would end up being the Thursday before our trip to WDW. We fly out early Sunday morning. Now I’m nervous about the timing of this all.

For those of you who have had the second Pfizer shot, was it exactly 21 days from the first shot?

We were scheduled 28 days from the first shot.

Your second shot of Pfizer must be NO SOONER than 21 days after the first one. It does not need to be on the 21st day.
I’ll be in WDW on my 28th day, hoping I can wait until the following week when I return. **Fingers crossed** I see they want to schedule the Pfizer shot at 21 days but also read can wait up until 6 weeks for the second shot.

Orange County (Orlando) scheduled both vaccine appointments when I made the first appointment.

Since that wasn't done where you live, when they try to give you an appointment that doesn't work, I think just tell them you can't do it that day. I wouldn't say it's because you're going on a vacation. :-)

Moderna was 28 days for my mom, Pfizer 21 days for my husband and me. Actually mine will be 23 days due to weather.

(OHIO): My in-laws got appointments for their first vaccines for this coming Wednesday at Walgreens! They were calling local pharmacies daily starting earlier last week and scored their appointments yesterday. They both fall into the 65+ age group, so they are eligible as of last week.

I tried to get an appointment for my mom, who also falls into that age group and seems in no hurry to get her vaccine...she can't commit to a date for the second vaccine because she's flying to Florida in March. 😐 I made her a Walgreens account and in looking online, it did seem like there were quite a few appointments available on Wednesday. So if any of you are looking for appointments, hound your pharmacies!!

As for me, I posted a few updates from my second Moderna vaccine that I got on Friday. Arm pain is 99% gone...the swelling in that shoulder is still there (I guess I'll ice it or something) and I have a bit of splotchy redness, but nothing is really bothering me at this point. Very thankful.
