Have you gotten a COVID vaccine?

After my night of throwing up we had a snow day today. I’ve spent most of the day on the couch with a blanket. I did clean the bathrooms, did a couple of loads of laundry and made dinner. I don’t feel 100% yet but I feel ok. Had we been in school I probably could have gone and made it through the day. We’re 100% in person but shortened days.

I am not looking forward to the second dose. I have heard the reaction can be stronger to the first dose if the person has had covid. I’m not sure if that’s true or not but I had covid at the end of November.

I had my second Pfizer vaccine on Monday at 11 am. I was fine until that night, and I started having intense body aches and chills. I started alternating Tylenol and Ibuprofen, so I finally was able to sleep most of the day on Tuesday. Whenever I was awake, I felt terrible. This continued into Wednesday, although it was a little less intense later in the afternoon on Wednesday. I also occasionally ran a low-grade fever. Yesterday (Thursday) I woke up feeling completely normal other than arm soreness at the injection site.

I've never had anything other than injection soreness for any vaccine, so I was surprised that this hit me so hard. I knew the possibility of side effects was higher with the second dose, though. I 100% would do it again, but it wasn't a pleasant experience. I know that it's nothing compared to having COVID, so I'm thankful I got my shots.

I had covid and the first dose side effects were bad. Second dose not as bad. Same with my coworker. I hope it’s the same for you.

4 days since my 2nd Pfizer shot and no reaction except a mildly sore arm that lasted about a day. My daughter had her second Pfizer shot at noon yesterday and today fever, chills and headache. Same with a coworker who got her 2nd Moderna shot yesterday. They are both early 30s. I am late 50s. Interesting thing I have noticed occasionally and didn't pay any mind until I saw other posts here are what seems like an optical migraine starting in the periphery of my visual field but it hasn't developed into a migraine. It has happened a couple times since I got my vaccine.

Thank you, that gives me a little hope. I didn’t expect the reaction I had and thought the whole time that I would have to go through it all over again and maybe even worse. Next time I’ll go in expecting what I just experienced and may be pleasantly surprised.

Got my first shot this afternoon (Pfizer). About an hour or two later I got an aural migraine (I get those about once a year. These migraines don't hurt. It just causes an odd visual disturbance). It may have been due to the shot, or it may have been a coincident. The shot didn't hurt AT ALL. I feel totally fine. I get second dose in March.
I had my first dose of Moderna today. I also had an aural migraine an hour or two later. I thought it may have just been a coincidence. Interesting to see that someone else had the same experience, albeit with a different brand of vaccine.

Me, too! I am known for aural migraines and I haven’t had them in a bit. I have had a few headaches and a short aural episode in the days and week following Pfizer dose #1. Unclear whether vaccine or just life. I will pay closer attention after dose #2. I did finally tell v-safe at the one week check-in that I‘d had some headaches.

Checking in about 22 hours after my second dose of Moderna. Arm is a bit sore, but not as bad as with the first dose and nowhere near what I remember from my most recent flu shot. I did focus on moving it around a lot yesterday, so maybe that helped. I have a mild headache, mild body aches (lower back and neck - feels like a little bit of throbbing in my lymph nodes) and mild fatigue. I had a little trouble sleeping last night, but I think that was more from being nervous about possible side effects and not from the side effects themselves? No chills or fever at this point.

I feel like the mild body aches and headache are my main issues right now and they are getting a tiny bit worse as the morning is going on so I’ll be popping some Tylenol here in a bit. I’d still classify everything as mild at this point (and I swear I did not try to make this post into a drinking game by using the word “mild” over and over again 😁).

Also, the CDC was on it with texting me about V-safe...I got a message from them asking about my second vaccine when I was driving home from having just gotten it.

One of my brother got shot#1 (Moderna) a couple of weeks ago. Little bit of a sore arm was all he had.

My other brother got his first shot yesterday (pfizer) and his arm was very very sore. He's dreading Shot #2 because he had Covid around Christmas. Of course big sister (me) wouldn't dare tell him some of my DISer's account of Shot 2 after having had Covid. I will let my younger sister do that. She had Shot 2 last week and in her words "about died" with the side effects. She "about died" with Covid in December; again her words. ;)

Keep you guys posted.

My mom got her second vaccine (Moderna) at her LTC facility, and my husband got his second (Pfizer) at a family medicine clinic associated with a local hospital both on ‘Wednesday. Mom seemed a little tired Thursday am. My husband woke up Thursday slightly achy and slightly nauseous. He had breakfast and drank coffee and felt back to normal afterwards. I take my second dose (Pfizer) on Monday at the same clinic my husband had his. My biggest worry is how cold it will be here Monday.

Checking in 18 hours after Pfizer #2 - I didn't have any reaction. My arm is only sore if I actually press on the spot where I had the shot. Removed my Tweety band-aid (Spiderman last time) and the little cotton ball didn't even have a single drop of blood. No aches or pains. So far, so good.
I finally found a plus to being old! LOL

it's now been 24 hr after getting shot #2. Had ringing in my ears an hour after this dose, similar to what happened after the 1st shot. But this time, it went away after 3 hours.
How are you doing now? Is the ear ringing still gone? I have tinnitus and a worsening of that is my primary concern about the vaccine (I know it can be a symptom of Covid, too), so it helps to hear from people who have had this symptom. TIA.
