Have you ever called the hotel prior to your arrival to ask what room they have you in? I'm tempted only because Im curious. I guess deep down it doesnt matter and may not stay that way but i was curious.

You cannot easily call a Disney hotel directly anyway, so the question is mostly moot. ;)

Most people don't know CMs like you and I do and therefore do not know of a way to contact the hotels directly, so it's mostly moot.

To answer your original question though, no I don't do this.

youd be surprised what knowing a CM can do for you so its not moot

To be fair, when you posed your original question, you didn't let on that you had the "connection" to be able to do this. So, based on the info provided in the initial post, it would be difficult to do and therefore moot.

If you had said, "if you had a way to call the resort directly and find out what room you were assigned, would you?", then that would have been closer to what you were actually asking. :)

yeah to m~boy! a person with real values.

fyi~ just becoz one can take advantage of another, does
not give you the right!

do you think "all" lay persons are not aware of the ways
we are being taking advantage....so much you miss.

to me, just one more confirmation that disney needs
to reel in those stealing from guests. obviously some
may wear the disney uniform but has no respect for
others. this can/should be stop with proper management.

sure like dvc managers reading this boast.

Disney won't tell you room numbers until you have arrived and checked into the resort and your room is ready to be occupied. Rooms can get changed at the last minute.

I didn't read it that they actually have a connection just that they think you might get a cm that would give the information.

Ty Allison. And so you all know the number to the hotel is out there with a five second search on a search engine, that's how I found it and confirmed it with a reservation cm.

I put one of the responses into a translator but it came back with no results lol.

Disney does not post the numbers to their resorts. They are not meant for regular guest use. The numbers you find online and that are given by reservations go to a call center.

Your room is not your room until you actually walk into it. They will not give you any information until the room is ready to be occupied. They will not even give you a room number when you check in if your room is not yet cleared to be occupied.

So, there is no point.

I'm not sure what your concern is? There's no stealing from guests, or taking advantage, involved here. The reservation CM simply confirmed the public number for the resort that the OP found via a web search.

Not really. Even if you are sitting on the bed, in your WDW resort room, and go to call the front desk for something, you aren't getting the front desk at your resort. You are getting a call center. They will route your call to the appropriate place. I have a phone number on my itinerary. But it really isn't my resort phone number..it's a call center.

Not to mention that no one is going to tell you your room number..not over the phone, or even standing there in front of a CM at the resort, until that room is ready to be occupied. You could have a set room assigned to you but that room could conceivably go to some other guest before you get there due to unforeseen circumstances. That means you will be getting an alternate room...and it might not be known what that room is until about 10 mins prior to your arrival.

You're calling a call center, not the hotel directly. That goes for any number you call from anywhere on Disney property. The only way to speak to someone at a certain hotel is go to the front desk and talk to them face to face.

Does it really make a difference to know what room you might be getting anyways? How many rooms does WDW have...10,000? Imagine 2,000 calls each day inquiring about the specifics of a room assignment just because someone is curious.

Calling for information that doesn't really matter just drives up prices since Disney will have to pay more CMs to work at the call center. Room assignments are a tricky process and it is best to let them handle it until you arrive unless you need medical accommodations.

Have you ever called the hotel prior to your arrival to ask what room they have you in?
. . . nope
. . . besides, you call into the Call Center, and not to the resort
. . . the actual resort phone numbers are not for public publication

I'm tempted only because I'm curious.
. . . even if you call, we will not tell you
. . . we won't even tell you when you check-in, if the room isn't ready then
. . . the room number can change
. . . if you were assigned a "good" room, we might give it to someone else
. . . if so, you would be angered *
. . . of course, a mechanical failure could also move the assigned room

I guess deep down it doesn't matter and may not stay that way but i was curious.
. . . no it does not

* Frequently, I give a better room to people who ask for them or
check-in early in the day. We can also move someone we like into a
better room than was assinged. You might have been scheduled for a
good room location, but we can give that to another guest any time
before you arrive to check-ion. This happens at every resort, and several
times per day.

No, but when Disney first started texting that your room was ready I got a text sitting at my desk at work that my room #---- was ready. Which was funny since I hadn't left NJ yet :)

What are you even talking about?? Did you reply on the wrong thread or what?

Phone rings somewhere in Orlando.

"Hi, I'm coluk," says person who is not coluk. "Can you please tell me my room number?"

Disney CM, "Yes, you'll be in room 2."

"Oh, I'd rather have room 10," says non-coluk person. Room 10 is actually near the dumpster and the loud pool and farthest away from the food court and the bus stop.

I would think that you would want Disney to verify who is actually checking in and the only way to really do that is to check in face to face at the resort.

So when I call to modify my reservation through the call center they ask me name phone address and email, so can the hotel so that's really not a reason it's done, the changing around certainly is.
