Have you ever made the "Neiman Marcus" cookie recipe?

I have made these for years...the ones without coffee. It is my father's favorite cookie that I make, and I usually make about 15-20 different kinds at Christmas. Personally, it is not my favorite...it is very crunchy...but the recipe does make a boat-load, so if you're into giving cookie plates, this will fill up a bunch of space.

I don't remember them being crunchy. I wonder if there are more recipes floating around.... :confused3

I'll try and find the one we use.

The on in post #2 (with the expresso powder) is the actual Neiman Marcus Recipe. I got this from the Cafe @ Nemain's in Dallas. The recipe in post #3 is the one that goes around in email.

I know I've made #3 and I didn't care for them. They were a lot of work and they didn't spread out much. They ended up being too thick for me. They tasted great, just didn't spread.

I'm pretty sure I've med the ones from the NM recipe, but if I did they didn't impress me enough to make again.

Now the recipe I want is the coconut cake. I haven't emailed them for it because I'm afraid I would eat the entire thing if I made it!

Just an FYI, Neimans will give you a copy of any recipe, for free. I have gotten a few over the years. Of course they always taste better at the resturant!
