my bil did a few years ago they found it about 6 months later in the city stripped

Yes, it was 10 weeks old :sad2:

Never got it back

Our car was stolen and we got a call about a month later telling us that a group of teenagers had used it to commit a crime in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. The real surprise was that it was up to us to travel to Pine Bluff to get the car (it was not an easy place to get to). For some reason, I thought the police would return the car to you.

My best friends car was stolen from his driveway. (I still remember the phone call when he went outside and his car wasn't there.) The police found it a year later completely stripped. They left the visors alone but stole the stickers off of them. :sad2:

Yep! My SUV was stolen out of the parking lot of my apartment complex in Orlando (just down Kirkman past Universal). I came downstairs to get in my car and there was an empty parking space where it had been!

My car was found 6 months to the day at an apartment complex near the Orlando airport. The vehicle was in PERFECT shape except for the steering column where the theives had hotwired it. The car had even been recently WAXED!!! Most everything of value was taken from the car but I did manage to retrieve my favorite cardigan sweater and my Serengheti sunglasses from the impound lot. By that point the insurance company had already paid me for the vehicle so I didn't get it back.

We got ours back. We were living in downtown Atlanta in an apt. and we left one of our cars during the Christmas break. When we came back, we couldn't find our car, and couldn't remember exactly where we parked it 2 weeks earlier. Once we came to the conclusion it was gone, we called the police to file a report, and about a week later they found it. The door lock and ignition were drilled out and the radio was missing, but that was it. We fixed those things and sold it not too long after that.

Nope. They never found it. We had quite a bit in it, too when it was stolen. Luckily 95% of contents were covered. Got a new Explorer out of it!

No. I wish someone would, it would give me an excuse to buy a new car! :teeth:

If anyone wants a '98 Saturn with 90,000 plus miles that needs work on the suspension and the exhaust system, you're welcome to it!

A friend at the time had just mailed her last payment a month before. And was very excited to use the money to fix a few things. It was a acura so she figured she would get alot more use out of it. Well she went out to the parking lot one morning and it was gone. By noon they had already found it in Hartford stripped completely. The worset part was she worked for the insurance company. And they figured she was trying to just get money out of it because she worked there and had just paid it off. Now why would anyone get ride of a car they just paid off :confused3 . I dont even think it was a full month before that it was paid off i think it was around a week. She ended up getting the money from the car and getting the same exact car. She did move though. Wasnt the best area.

Yes, got it back 2 months later.

We were at WDW!!!! and 2nd day in FL and 1st day at MK, and daughter stayed home....called us as we were enjoying a Dole Whip. Certainly put damper on trip. Could not believe 2 mths later it was recovered.

OMG! My suburban was stolen thanks to my stupid ex husband, he was cheating on my of course, and he took the suburban to take his girl to clubs, restaurants and finally a motel where it was stolen, and he called me at 4:00AM to tell me, he said he called the insurance and the police already, but that he was in a club, at 4:00AM? Whatever, I knew something was wrong, so I called the insurance and they told me where the SUV was taken, so I drove there and he was standing right outside of his room with her, his face was priceless, LOL! She ran into the room and he was so busted. We found the suburban weeks later in downtown Atlanta, they took everything, even my little girl's car seat, strollers, radio, speakers, his wallet and cell phone LOL!

I haven't had mine stolen, but when I was growing up my step-grandmother and step-aunt went shopping in St. Louis an the car was stolen with all the Christmas presents in the trunk out of the mall parking lot.

They never did get it back.

Yes, mine was stolen and used in an armored car holdup were the armored guard was killed.
I was in College.I parked my car off campus went to class came out and my car was gone. It is the strangest feeling because you know where you parked it and now its gone. I reported it stolen. A week later I get a call asking for me and if I reported a car stolen. I said yes, they said we have your car. I said where is it and they said it was used in a homicide. :scared:
I had to go to the police station to be fingerprinted so they could eliminate prints off my car. I got the car back and sold it. Five years later the Brooklyn D.A. called me they caught the suspects and were bringing them to trial and I had to go testify that I was not in possesion of my car that day.
Now is that a stolen car story!

Yes, when we lived in S.C. someone attempted to steal it from in front of our apt. Then 3 months after we moved in to our new house it was stolen from our driveway.
I guess these kids had stolen another car that ran out of gas so they pulled it in to our subdivision. Our house was right across the street.

My DH was working over and due home in about half an hour(2:00 in the morning) and the door bell rings. I opened the door expecting it to be him and there stands a police officer. Now keep in mind my DH is probably on his way home and the first thing the officer says is,"What kind of car does you husband drive?" I about feel over,I thought for sure he had been in an accident. Then I happened to glance over at the driveway and see my car gone.
They found it downtown sans 2 car seats and with a screwdriver hole in the passenger door. Funny enough, the cars seats being stolen ticked me off the most.

Our Realtor was in the neighborhood a few days later and stopped to see how we were settling in. We said great except having our car stolen. Oh, the look on his face!

I had 3 stolen. I lived in Detroit ~ need I say more? :rolleyes2

Only 2 were found. One was found in an alley way in a drug neighborhood (one of many) & the police said they just couldn't get close enough to it since it was full of rats. I got that one back & sold it immediately after. That one was stolen from where I worked (naturally in Detroit also.)

The 2nd one was parked at where my Mom worked. I went to pick her up from work & when we came out of the building (was I in there maybe 5 minutes?) ~ that one was gone. It was found months later & it was just the metal shell. Even the engine was gone. Police said that one was a professional chop shop.

The 3rd one was again stolen from where I worked & that one was parked right in front of the guard's shack. I went up the elevator to my floor & as I walked in my office, a co-worker told me I had a phone call. I answered it & it was the downstairs guard telling me my car was just stolen. :sad2: Wonder what they were paying him for. I even had a kill switch on that car. That one was never located.

I no longer leave anything that means anything to me in a vehicle. Live & learn.

Stolen in 1990 in New Orleans parked from an employee parking lot just off St. Charles Ave. It was a nice green Olds 88.

It was found stripped off a deserted highway in a bad area.

The insurance company totalled it and we got peanuts for it, it was about 5 years old, low mileage.

It was bad timing. We had just traded in DH's Mazda RX-7 two seater when we had DD (she was only 2 months old when it was stolen). We had to buy another new car. Also, had some new baby equipment in the trunk so that was a bummer.

Once - in MD - found it a few days later with the 2 front seats missing - and I think the hubcaps. DH had to drive it from the impound lot by sitting on a crate!!! The only thing worse than having it stolen is to add insult to injury by having to pay hundreds of dollars to get it out of the lot!!!!

:wizard:

Yes, I had a 1967 SS 396 stolen in 1970. I had just gotten it running good. I never got it back.

Laying in bed one night I hear an alarm going off. I said that sounds just like my jeeps alarm. I thought nothing of it because I heard it down the street. Next morning I walk out to get to my car and dont see it. I aked hubby why did he park the car over there and he said I did not. I said yes you did look. We walk down there and realize it was broken into it. The alarm must of started to sound when they were at the corner.
