My family received some gut wrenching news this week that one of our loved ones would probably not make it through the night. Well, not only did he make it, but he has turned around so well that he has been moved out of the intensive care. Now I am not a terribly religious person, but I do believe my family has been granted a miracle, and for that I am thankful. I wanted to share this just to remind all of my friends here to appreciate each other, I know I do.

I have been given many second chances..Some for myself personally, some for loved ones. It does make you step back and look at what is really important in your life. Great news about your miracle. Hope that you are granted many more in your lifetime..

Oh yeah!

Back on Feb 1, 2000 I had lower back surgery. No big deal! Then on the 29th I went to bed and my life changed forever.
My DW has told me what happened because I have no memories of it at all. I was 45 at the time.

I had a brain aneurism.

She heard all kinds of noise (seizures) from upstairs and ran up to find a horrible mess. I was standing in the bathroom mumbling someting. I made quite a mess in the bedroom, got up and was sick all over the place. ICK!
Instead of just cleaning me up and putting me back to bed (thinking I just had a stomach virus), she said she heard voices telling her to get me to the hospital.
It was 2:30AM.

Long story short... the aneurism erupted on the table and my doctor was able to fix that little bleeding problem. Whew! (Thanks doc!)

I am not a religious person at all, even after all that but she saved my life. I owe my life to my "angel", DW! Words can't express my feelings about her and her actions that night and since.

She gave me the second chance!

(And she even cleaned up that carnage I left behind and never held it against me!)

got my seccond chance on october 2 2003, the day i got hit in my head with a motor home,, either proved god exists and is watching over me,or that i really do have the hardest head in the world as my dw and mother seeem to believe on a regular basis:) personally i prefer to think an angel was holding my head in his hands:)

So happy to hear :)

About 12 years ago I was hit by a car. This accident would have seriously killed most people and no one knows how I walked away without a scratch but I did. Definately felt like I got another chance.

btw link to my accident story is on the ww below:)

Yes I am a walking miracle thanks to God giving me a second chance and hearing the prayers of everyone praying for me. Thanks to doctor incompetent #1 who only would see me in the emergency room after about a week since my surgery that my dh had to beg him to do and plead with the hmo we found out I had like about 24 hours left to live. Dr. Kevorkian, um, I mean dr. #1 looked like the hero by saving me and cutting me open with a nice knife in the er with no anesthesia. But it was his incompetence that almost killed me to begin with. I had a massivew staph infection. I had to go to the chief of surgery in order for him to fix me up. Scarier yet is doctor #1 is still practicing and someone asked me to join them in a lawsuit since he apparently did something similar to her. Things still arent great, but I am not complaining, I am still here. PTL.

Nothing has happened like that to me, but sometimes I almost wish something profound like that would happen so that I would not take my life for granted and I would appreciate my time here on Earth more.

January 5th, 1993.

My son was born with the same exact problem that killed my first son six years earlier. 11 years later he's still my best friend!

Thank you, GOD!

October 11, 1979.....I was 8 months pregnant with my first....was having very bad headaches and was gaining weight (fluid).

Started to have seizures that night and was rushed to the hospital and they had to take Kari caesarian and they were not confident that I would make it. I think the volunteer firefighters at our local station really saved me. They knew two of my sisters and knew the address and were there within minutes.

After 4 days in intensive care and a total of two weeks in the hospital, I brought my daughter home. She was barely 5 pounds, but has made up for it since:)

Excellent outlook mom of five!!!

I'm so glad for you and your family member WishingStar. I wish him continued success in his recovery!

Sometimes I feel like Ive been given too many second chances! I was born more than a month premature, with one lung and a hernia...mom was told I was only given a 50/50 chance to survive.

When I was a senior in high school, a tornado ripped right through my path to work...at the time I would have been in route to work had I not been sick to my stocmach and in the bathroom.

When working at WDW, lightening struck a tree 2 feet behind me.

And in 2002, I had pulled over to help someone whos care had slid of the road, I got out of my car so i could call 911 (my cell wouldnt work in my car) and as soon as I dialed 911, a car came speeding off the road, hit me going 50 MPH throwing me 25 feet, where I rolled down a hill. I survived with severe bruises..not even a broken bone!

I decided either someone is trying to get rid of me and I'm just lucky, or someone out there is keeping an eye out for me...Im more than lucky!

I definitely believe in second chances. Though I've not had one in a major dramatic sense, I've known others that did. IMO, it's God's way of showing us that miracles do still happen today.

I got my second chance when I married my wonderful husband.

Let's see. My second chance, when my husband left and I thought the world would be better off without me. Someone kind, without knowing how I was feeling, saved me. The other half of that is when I realized that him leaving was a good thing and I do have a second chance now.

Yup- I know I have a purpose in life who knows yet what that is-

All my life Ive defied medical odds- First from being born early and then surviving cancer twice (Leukemia 84-92 OS from 99-2004) to survivng a pretty nasty stroke from which I had to relearn alot of the basics but have very few after effects left today- I consider myself quite lucky--

I hope one day Ill find my purpose and fufill it to the completion-

I've been granted many chances in my life, the first of which happened the day that I was born. When I look back onto my family tree the miracle astounds me even more. In order for me to have been born my parents would have to meet. In order for them to meet they would have to be born, then their parents would have had to meet (then my mother had to be given up for adoption), and so forth and so on all the way back to Adam and Eve as they say. If my Mom ended up marrying another person then neither me nor my older brother would have been born.

Yes I do believe... too many times I should not have been here due to medical reasons....
