Have you ever done this before?

I am taking the Magical Express to the Pop Century 2 days before our cruise then on that Saturday taking the Express back to the airport at 9am then the bus to the port at 10 so I can get to the port earlier than with the transfers from the resorts to port. Has anyone ever done this? Is this a good idea?

Since Magical Express is so new, you're probably the first. Seems like too much of a hassle just to arrive a little earlier.

Can you use ME without having an airline ressie? Will Disney transfer your luggage from the hotel to the ME bus to the DCL bus? If so, I say go for it and get to the port early, if that's what'll make you happy. It might even add to the excitement!

All Seas recomended that we do this, so I am assuming we can. We are eventually flying out of Orlando, but after the cruise. Any other thoughts?

I think this is a great idea! I was a bit bummed that DCL guests could not take full advantage of ME, unless they were doing Land/Sea, but you seem to have gotten around that with the added advantage of getting to the port early. Clever! Thanks for the idea. Wondering how to find out if Disney will allow this. I sure hope so. Have a great time!

This would be too much hassle for me. How many people are in your party? I assume you are paying for the transfers from the airport to the port? I would look into getting a towncar/van service to pick you up at your Disney hotel and drive you to the port. They will drop you right off at the luggage drop off area and you can walk to ship. Much less hassle (less handling of your luggage as well) and a more relaxing way to start your cruise - not to mention possibly cheaper than the transfers.
