Oscar was a Mojave tortoises found new born crossing a busy road... so Dad picked up the reptile and he lived in our ignorance for years in a glass bowl eating lettuce or monsoon flowers.when we moved to Oregon we have him to another family...pet tortoises are known to outlive the human family that held the animals captive... like parrots.

Yes, kind of. 5th grade. My painting hung in a Senator's office in DC for a while. I think my art teacher likely just chose a few and sent them in, but I'm not sure how that went. Long time ago. I did get a copy of the Constitution & The Bill of Rights, along with a note from the Senator. Quite exciting for a 5th grader!
